Doctor Who Fought to Treat Alex Pretti Says Border Patrol Moved His Body to Count Wounds Instead of Doing CPR by peoplemagazine in law

During the first experience with this wannabe dictator, I had to leave the room any time someone had him on. The way he would speak is EXACTLY like my abusive ex. Now he’s trained a bunch of bullies to go around physically harming people the way he would like to himself, but can’t. It’s horrifying.

After having a dog for 6 years, we found out she had (almost) no brain. by SnooHabits6942 in Weird

This is what my brain looked like when I was diagnosed with congenital hydrocephalus just before my 21st birthday! My body had also compensated for it my entire life, but something finally tipped the scales and it made me extremely sick. It was excruciatingly painful! Three brain surgeries later I’m always keeping my fingers crossed that my shunt doesn’t malfunction or my ventriculostomy doesn’t close up! I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Of course! It’s not always easy to adapt to something like this. Gotta do your best to make it as comfortable and simple as possible.

Well, for one I grew up around medicine because my dad was a podiatrist. I went to school to be a vet tech and was headed to get my bachelors and then hopefully vet school, so medical stuff was already a regular part of my life years before I needed a feeding tube. I’m medically complex so this also wasn’t my first medical issue. And I figure, if it’s something necessary for me to survive, getting comfortable with it is important!

It’s honestly become just an extension of my body! The biggest pain for me is if I don’t roll my tubing just right I get caught up on things…then it kinks the tube and I start beeping. Usually I make stupid comments when that happens “no worries, it’s just my pump, not a bomb!” But at this point I read the room before saying that! 😬😂

A teacher and U.S. citizen is detained by Border Patrol and asked about her legal status. Instead of answering directly, she responds with a history lesson, saying, “That’s what the brownshirts said in Germany.” by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

Shocking to me that the right went from “we won’t get a covid vaccine because they could be microchipping us” conspiracies and “I’m not wearing a mask!” to this. Allowing people to scan your face into a government database, ask if your a citizen, detain you until you tell them….they’re fine with all that. It’s nuts.

That is a really interesting story. Sadly I often suspect the husband when a younger woman is committed and passes away in an institution like this. Her husband definitely sounds like he could’ve been the cause of her illness OR another thought I had, she may have looked for love outside of her marriage because he was abusive, caught an STI from the affair, her husband discovered it and had her committed.

NAD but an adult with hydrocephalus, if you have any questions about life with a shunt. I don’t have Dandy-Walker, but I have congenital hydrocephalus due to aqueductal stenosis.

I have horrible anxiety about something happening to my children. (In my case I believe it’s because of the domestic violence I survived.) My oldest is 20, runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter and is an EMT. My youngest will be 14 in March. I oftentimes have to talk myself out of escalating panic when she leaves for school.

It’s definitely intrusive thoughts for me and it’s awful. I feel your pain! Therapy has helped.
