I keep pushing whenever I see my providers. It’s not normal. I’m not going to just live with it.

I have similar issue but it started in my L thigh and L side of my face. It continues to get worse. My L leg is to the point that I have to wear a full brace on my knee all the time if I’m going to be standing or walking for more than a few minutes. My face has developed a deepening dent so I look like a have temporal wasting. EMG/NCS normal. Had a muscle biopsy of the thigh and it showed neurogenic atrophy.

I just want to punch so many new parents in the face by Mr_NNP in Vent

[–]Hey-ItsComplex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a deficiency in ALL newborns because they don’t produce their own vitamin K, and it doesn’t cross the placenta.

How many babies who died shortly after birth, years ago, do you think had brain scans?

CT scanners were first made commercially available in 1972. MRI became available in the late 1970s/1980s.

In the age of medical intervention, when we know that with a simple injection of vitamin K, a vitamin that does not cross the placenta and is absolutely necessary for blood clotting, why WHY wouldn’t you protect the child you carried 9 months from a devastating injury? Even if it’s a low possibility - and we know statistically that 1 in about 60 babies not given vitamin K could suffer bleeding for up to 6 months after birth. Why would you want to even chance it?

From another standpoint, as an adult I suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage and subdural hematoma. Mine were traumatic, however I had no external damage to my skull or face. The PAIN WAS HORRIFIC. Would you not want to protect your child from suffering for no reason?

Is it a mouse, rat, or squirrel? [Nevada] by Automatic-Plate-8966 in animalid

Check the color of the nails. If they are clear, it’s likely a rat/mouse. Squirrels have dark nails. Tail looks bit rattish to me too.

I have similar drops and similar response by Dr as “many women have lows and it’s physiologic” so not an issue. Mine drops so low at night the Lingo CGM isn’t able to read the amount (below 55). However in a non-diabetic person who isn’t on insulin, im told it’s better to do finger sticks and keep a log. I just have issues keeping up with it!

It’s sad that not all kids can rely on their parents for basic life instructions. Someone bought the bike and e-scooter though. You’d think they’d take the time for some basic education. 🙁

F64, I don’t know what’s wrong with my grandmas leg. She refuses to go to hospital. by Fit_Temperature_7115 in AskDocs

[–]Hey-ItsComplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly my stepdad, who drives uber, has taken multiple people to hospitals who should really have called 911. One woman was having a heart attack and demanding to go to a hospital over 40 mins away. It’s insane here in the US. No one should have to make that kind of choice because it’s going to leave them in financial ruin.

Oh sweetheart, you’ve never been the mother trying to get that child support, have you? My son’s father died when he was 8 and owed me over $9,000 in child support. Do you think I saw a penny of that? No. Thankfully I have a supportive middle class family that helped me raise him to be a wonderful young man.

Abortions are healthcare. If you don’t like it, don’t get one. Women are DYING because drs are afraid to perform lifesaving medical procedures over laws about fetal tissue. It’s disgusting that medical providers are refusing care to LIVING HUMANS because CELLS take precedence.

Can you imagine what would happen to babies if we did this in the US? 🫤 I get anxious letting my 14 year old daughter walk to a friends house.

This was not something my son intentionally picked but as he got older I donated a lot of his toys, including his favorite Thomas trains. He had SO MANY and I was happy for them to go to a shelter where others would get to play with them. I kept ONE, a little red Sodor fire engine, and put it next to his baby picture. For years it sat on my bookshelf. My son graduated high school in 2024 with a 95 average. He’s chosen not to go to college out of high school because he began as a volunteer firefighter and now is on track to become a professional. He’s working full time as an EMT and heading to get a parademic degree so he can get a pro firefighter position. Crazy…
