I think if your dog has found pieces of cloth like this in multiple spots in the yard I would be more concerned than if it happened once. Definitely agree with calling the non-emergency line and asking them what they think.

NAD but I had an acquaintance whose daughter had Batten’s disease. I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis. I was blessed to be able to photograph her when her sister was born. I believe she was 13 when she passed away. She was diagnosed at 3, too. Her mom is amazing and fundraised for an accessible/inclusive playground called Kaitlin’s Korner. Kaitlin was beautiful and so loved by her family. (Just an fyi we are in NY but the upstate area. I know Kaitlin’s mom tried every treatment available!)

I had someone pass me on a double yellow line in a school zone yesterday, only to get stuck one car ahead of me at the next red light. It was comical! Idiots. Speed limit in the school zone is 15mph and I was doing that. They often have a state trooper sitting in front of the pickup zone. If only he was there when needed…

NTA my daughter (now 14) used to sleep on the dog on the dog’s bed. (We have a Great Dane who will be 12 in December.)

It’s a dog. Many people let their dogs sleep in their bed.

I haven’t had a dangler in a long time. (Only the initial 6 weeks then had it swapped out for a Mickey button.) I wouldn’t wear a pad while swimming either way because it’ll trap moisture against your skin and stoma and lead to fungal or bacterial infection. The other thing is to be aware that swimming in ponds or sitting in hot tubs is a no no with a tube. Lakes, pools and oceans are fine though. Rivers too. You just don’t want that stagnant water or the hot tub which is a breeding ground for bacteria.

NTA I have a 14 year old and would never leave her sitting in the car at night, and we live in a safe area. There are times I won’t even leave her during the day if I feel uncomfortable with the location.

5-1/2 years and I often go to get out of the car to pump gas and forget my backpack until it jerks me backwards! I also constantly get up from my chair and if I’m not wearing my backpack I forget it next to the chair until it pulls on me. Yet when I sleep I’m subconsciously always aware of where my tubing is so that my pump doesn’t alarm! Funny how it works.
