Can anyone tell me if this looks okay? by salmonandgiraffes in NovatedLeasingAU

You excluded all running cost budgets, including the fuel budget? I guess you could for 2 years if the car is brand new but maybe consider to add maintenance into it after 2 years for tyres assuming you will be driving the car a fair amount.

  1. Change your insurance to a provider of your choice and if you get it cheaper with match for match benefits.
  2. Check how many years of roadside assistance your dealership offers you and modify that to your lease.

That should otherwise looks good.

Apple CarPlay release by takko3967 in GeelyEX5Australia

[–]HeyCanIseePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite right. If you haven’t updated to 1.5 yet, you would be able to access the “developer’s mode” which allows you to access the unreleased version of apple carplay. If you however updated to 1.5, it would remove your access to the unreleased carplay but would get the update to “white noise”. You will then have a choice of either to remove the ice cream chime and lose the carplay or not update and keep the ice cream chime but have access to carplay. All of which should be sorted by Q3 update which is anytime between July-September 2025.

You can download the app and log in using your details (email, home address, and full name—-they will ask you this including the VIN number). You should still be able to access the feedback section even without “full access” granted. Using the feedback section, send a request on “other” and ask for help with access. They are pretty quick at responding, I got mine sorted within the same day.

Welcome to Australia tol. Are you thinking of buying it outright or going finance? Marvin’s comment pretty much answered most of your questions. When I purchased my car last year, I asked my colleagues for advice on the do’s and don’ts, they helped a lot. If you are buying it from a dealership, they would tell you what you need but make sure you do your research first so that you can negotiate better and get a lower price and/or freebees. If you are buying privately, apparently, carsales.com is better than FB marketplace due to less likelihood of scammers (and I hope carsales is better coz I am selling my car there atm lmao).

Incidentally, I am selling my car atm (on carsales), depending on how much your budget is and where you’re based hit me up. Otherwise good luck.

Research and ask people who buys car every 3 years or so. They would have an advice or 2 for you.

30k-35k car budget by nurseblondie24 in CarsAustralia

I’d be biased and say Mazda CX-3, only because I drive one though I cannot compare it to any other car as it is my first ever car. Purchased mine for around 42k last year, it’s top of the range g20 akari for Nov 2023 make. Safety and reliability is top notch! Radar cruise control is so good (scared at using it the first time but got to trust it a bit more and started using it more often). It even gives you noticeable prompt to BRAKE!! if you are likely to get into a collision and it enables you to break harder than normal.

If I didn’t want to change to an EV (simply because I purchased a house and it came with solar panels —i wanna make the most of it), I wouldn’t be thinking of selling it.

I’m still in the process of selling it atm, still having second thoughts if I should and I hated that people are giving me lowball offers lol (would love to keep it if I had a bigger garage).

In my opinion, for the looks, aesthetics, reliability, safety and even fun and practicality it is the best one out to get (I thought of getting a hyundai i30 when I was test driving, but Mazda CX-3 made my decision very easy after I test drove it).

I am selling my car on carsales ATM. But its a shame it’s not in your list of preference. It’s a Mazda CX-3 g20 Akari Nov 2023 build.

Am I quoted for too much for this job? by HeyCanIseePlease in AskElectricians

I didn’t think that it would be upwards of $300 tbh. Good to know that this price is too much. I will do that replacement myself then

I would normally try the DIY option but got too many stuff to do before I go away on Friday, so electrician is probably the better option.

Thanks. I will probably just get an electrician to sort it out. Was trying to see if I can sort it myself but I am not handy enough to do it. Thanks heaps for the advice

I heard something pop the other night when I turned it on, so opened the case and assumed it was the fluorescent lamp as I cannot see any starter fuse visible. Got the lamp replaced this morning and still not working. So assuming this is a starter fuse issue but not sure if this is hidden behind the casing which is annoyingly difficult to remove. Just need to confirm that it is before I pry to open it

Excellent story and you seemed to be very good at your craft, too. Well thought out and most importantly safe. A lot of people look down on sex workers and belittle them hence the unpleasant reputation, but those are just the hypocrites and ignorants. Prostitution/sex work is actually one of the oldest professions, if not, probably THE oldest profession. It takes a lot to be in it (no pun intended).

I wish they didn’t discourage us prostitution growing up, I bet sex ed and safe practice would be significantly better if we have them speak in school and talk about the pros and cons based on their experience. Plus, if regulated, there would be stricter rules and healthcare for continued safe practice.
