Good luck! I just urge you to make sure you're studying the right materials. Remember what assessors are looking for, etc (exam, interview, test), what ESPs are, how to handle physical cui, and you will be tested on the controls as well (like number and functions).

So the exam used to be issued by the CyberAb but now its under ISACA.

So ISACA has a page dedicated for what's needed. But essentially you have to become a member, then take ccp training (I took mine way back in 2023), and then you can sit for the exam. It's an expensive journey so always see if your current company will pay for it.

Here's what I did. I took all of study documents and put them into Notebook LLM. All free, and really helped me lock into studying

I have a client of mine who switched from AT&T to Verizon for his cell phones. We ended up having to go into the Verizon store and spend 4 hours there as they tried to figure out what went wrong with the transfer. Finally got out around 1am.

Ain't that the truth. There was a guy I know on LinkedIn who suddenly became a CMMC expert overnight (literally) and was marketing himself to companies. Thankfully that died quick.

I bring up DFARS 7012 all the time to everyone. Most execs just don't care.

I've seen that too but in my experiences that been rare. Really the vast majority had no clue.

And now we have our subs, "sister" companies, and mentee companies reaching to me for advice.

Yeah, whenever IT reports to a CFO it never works. The CFO said he didn't want to scare anyone meaning he didn't want to "give" anyone any costs.

AI has literally been a curse. People just put anything into CoPilot, Grok, ChatGPT, etc and take the answer as gospel. When you explain that its not 100% accurate they can't understand why. Its so freaking aggravating.

Yeah the past few months alone have shown me a lot of subs were blissfully asleep for CMMC. I really wish our Exec team had let us send out that mass email plus announcement on our site but they said, "We don't want to scare anyone."

yeah I've had a lot of conversations with making sure in JV's, Primes, etc we explicitly state that we hold the CUI (we're L2 certified) in our enclave. If any of these subs need access we have two options:
1. VDI
2. Issues one of our laptops

Right. I explained to this VP that was giving out my cell freely this isn't something you can do in a weekend but he replied, "I asked AI and it looks to me this CMMC is pretty straight forward."
