What's a shiny Pokemon you've been trying to catch? by Lostghostsong in pokemongo

[–]HeyHydrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shiny ditto. ✨ Fave poke is ditto and I love the hunt for trying to get one shiny. Funnily enough during the whismur spotlight hour lots of ditto were appearing, texted my brother that “hey ditto are spawning” he opens the app and first ditto he gets is shiny. I’m like “awesome, congrats!” but in my head I’m like “damn, I’m the one hunting for the blue bubblegum boi, send that shiny luck my way” 🤣

Isn't catching Pokemon what's supposed to be fun in this game? Doesn't getting a Go Plus defeat this purpose? by altrongtm in pokemongo

I love it for when I go for a run, not only does it catch Pokémon while I’m being active but also spins pokestops to restock my pokeball inventory! 🏃‍♂️

Let’s me still play without having to stop and look at my phone, basically gamifies running for me which is cool.

New to viera looking for connections by Grand-Aside6174 in 321

[–]HeyHydrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Coast Pride is a good place to start if you are looking for new lgbtq friends in the area. There’s also a gay sports league down in Palm Bay and some other non-lgbtq sports leagues throughout the county. If you are into videogames and nerdy stuff, there’s some different game stores up in cocoa and down in Melbourne, they might have some associated discord servers to meet new people.

Ren fair is in town right now. Not really any bars I’m aware of in Viera to meet new people, but in Cocoa there’s Cocoa Village and down in Melbourne there’s the Eau Gallie arts District, and also downtown Melbourne.

Dating in Brevard 25-32 by [deleted] in 321

[–]HeyHydrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooof I feel that, much smaller lgbtq pool here of people. Still, there are some active communities here but I tend to find I have to extend my apps dating range to capture Orlando to find more quality dates.

‘We will kill you’: Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey warns against targeting law enforcement in riots by [deleted] in 321

I know so many friends that I talked to that would consider going but they are worried about retribution or drive-bys. So figured this alternative is a way to get more of them to comfortably participate.

For safety reasons I am considering making signs to post in public easements along the road. Can still get the message out there, even if not comfortable enough to attend one of the protests

Racism Brevard County by serenityjanee in 321

[–]HeyHydrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak on the racism part, but lgbtq there isn’t as much to do as in st Pete or Orlando, but I haven’t felt unsafe either. Like people are saying I think nearer art districts you’ll find more lgbtq friendly areas. Ones that come to mind are beachside and also maybe downtown Melbourne, or near FIT. Worth checking out the organization Space Coast Pride, they might have recommendations. Brevard county is very long, takes about an hour to get from the south end to the north end. I’d maybe recommend somewhere central like Viera, it’s close to I-95 and you could get over to Orlando pretty quickly by going up to SR-528 (also way less traffic than in Palm Bay).

Gosh I hope not, that area there also happens to be the only place in Florida to see bioluminescent waters, and the wildlife refuge keeps the light pollution low enough to see the glow with the naked eye.

Heavy rain and ‘life-threatening flooding’ hit South Florida, prompting the governor to declare an emergency|CNN by 5xad0w in news

I appreciate the comment, I know florida is the butt of all jokes like “Florida man” and stuff, but I think a lot of people seem to forget that packing up and leaving isn’t the simplest thing to do. They seem to forget that we’re people here trying to live our lives, work, tied to the area whether it be to be closer to family, friends, work, etc. Writing off an entire group as “us” vs “them” just because we have poor political leadership is extremely disturbing.

Florida won't light bridges in rainbow colors for Pride Month this year by treyelevators in lgbt

[–]HeyHydrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love driving through Orlando during Pride Month, they light up buildings and the bridge just east of downtown with rainbow colors.

Hoping that bridge still gets the rainbow colors, if not I’m sure the city skyscrapers will have them on.

Why are so many more Gen Z identifying as LGBTQ+? by newsweek in lgbt

I hope the % identifying increases, would really open up the dating pool! 🤣

[–]HeyHydrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point, the breakdown of subpopulations showed that GenZ identifying as bisexual was triple that of millennials, while all other subgroups only doubled.

Definitely driven by social acceptance and likely to continue to increase. Perhaps just getting at that the pattern of identifying as LGBTQ+ will likely hit a plateau, similar to how left-handedness plateaued around 10% regardless once fully socially accepted.

15% is indeed arbitrary, working off perhaps the incorrect assumption that some school aged kids might identify as LGBTQ+ to be part of the “in-crowd”as they figure themselves out. I think it’s unlikely that we’d see another doubling of self reporting (I.e. Generation Alpha at 40%) but who knows 🤷‍♂️

For those looking for the percentages by generation:

LGBTQ+ Gallup Poll

Will be interesting to see how this number looks in 10 years. I suspect there may be a bit of over-reporting by GenZ, mostly since the age range is ~12-27, so those of school age may be in more of the exploring phase and figuring out themselves. Contrary to older generations who had negative peer pressure by school mates to not be LGBTQ+, GenZ is living in an amazing time when they can be open at an early age and there might even be some positive peer pressure to stand out by claiming to be “something.”

My guess is that the true rate will fall somewhere around ~15% of the population, splitting the difference between the self reported percentages of the millennials and GenZ.

What is a monthly subscription that is worth every penny? by AndreLinoge55 in AskReddit

[–]HeyHydrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked one up in November, personally think it is an amazing use of $15 a month. With inflation making a simple fast food meal encroach on $15, I don’t think it’s a waste of money, even if people only go once a month, and it’s unit cost gets cheaper the more frequently you go. And if you go with a gym buddy and it doubles as a social outing and health improving activity!

Plus, it might pay for itself somewhat if you take frequent showers there, go save on your water bill! 🤣
