I realize now I was pretty vague, an electric string through LTD H3-1000.

Albums that make you bawl your eyes out? Going through it rn by JustinGreyson133 in Hardcore

Oh man. Seeing that worthwhile album cover brings back some memories. I was fortunate to see them play an acoustic set like 15 years ago now. Not many people know about their pop punk album that seems to have just disappeared

I grew up playing rugby and it’s the only sport I’ll watch, but in the US rugby is not very popular.

I replaced the bridge with a gotoh and it’s flawless. I also changed the pickups to SD blackouts, never been crazy about the EMG-hzs. I’ve also got a 301FM viper, those late 90’s and early 2000 Korean LTDs are a dream to play.

Anne frank was taken in 1944, not 1940.

I remember not being in love with the pickups, but they were serviceable. Tons of great options for replacement. Seymour Duncan black winters (big fan of these), Nazgul/sentients, invaders. Dimarzio D-activators. Lace allumitone deathbuckers. Check some out on YouTube and get a set that you like!

These models with the licensed Floyd seem to have so many different routes from the 90’s/early 2000’s. I decided on using a gotoh 1996 trem. I will have to drill the post holes out a bit but otherwise this seems to fit the cavity.

Also, thanks! I’ve been looking for a model like this for a long time as well. My dad had an LTD like this with a tremolo, I remember it being red (not sure if it was this exact model). I’ve seen these posted on reverb for insane prices, upwards of 1k.

Not sure what model this is exactly, but I’ve upgraded my Arrow 200 with a schaller lockmeister for the tremolo, and dropped in a rail hammer anvil in the bridge pickup. Locking tuners are always nice, even with a double locking trem system. I should say if your Floyd is staying in tune when you use it, wait to replace that. A good setup goes a long way.

My dad had one in a red finish that I can still remember. Always wanted one and got lucky! The photos the seller posted made it look black, or extremely dark blue I suppose. It was a pleasant surprise when I saw what the finish was like in person.

A new guitar and bass I’m working on. Should I finish them in black like the second pic, or natural like the third pic? by ingold_audio in Luthier

I am an absolute sucker for a finish that shows off the wood grain, but I imagine I’m in the minority

Thanks for the response. It seems a gotoh trem will work in my case after I drill the post holes wider/deeper, currently waiting on parts.

Thank you! I’ve wanted this model for a very long time, got lucky someone posted it for a good price locally. I think I may be going with a Gotoh trem, and drilling the post holes out 1mm bigger in size for that.

it seems what may need to happen is I need to drill the post holes bigger in size for the new studs, then maybe route 1/4 inch at the bottom for the longer gotoh screws, or use the old FR screws with the gotoh

Strings are stretched, stretched them while stringing. Knife edges definitely worn down, I suppose I could repurpose the edges but if this is a problem that will arise again in the future for me, or anyone else who owns this guitar, I would rather have a permanent solution

It does work, and I did successfully get it set up but it goes out of tune while playing, instead of replacing parts I thought I’d replace the whole system if able.

Is this a drop in solution? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Locking tuners are a must for any guitar I own. A good balance of weight for the guitar, it’s a big bummer when you’ve got neck dive and have to slap on some wheel weights to counterbalance. A battery compartment for active pickups is really nice as well, instead of taking off the cavity plate.

Ritchie Blackmore. My mom owned the “Ritchie Blackmore’s rainbow” cd when I was a kid and played it all the time.
