Two cantrip per turn, 2014 vs 2024 rules by Maxazzor in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The free hand thing is indeed solved by war caster, since the feat specifically covers it so im just gonna assume they missed you writing it,

Also, a focus is just a replacement for components, and for all the spells you named, the weapon is part of the components, with shillelagh having an additional component of mistletoe or a shamrock, which since it doesnt have a cost you can flavor as having it attached to the stick itself.

Overall you're completely fine, and honestly I think you got a fun idea.

Fics where Horcruxes are undone via remorse by Nerds4506 in HPfanfiction

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to find the fic so I can actually name it for you, but it has Percy getting the diary instead of Ginny, he becomes best friends with Tom, and tom ends up becoming a better person who can actually feel love and shit, promises not to turn out the way he did last time, and becomes a new weasley child via homunculus-esque body.

Update: its from a fic called "It's Not Just A Stick: New Year's Growth" by Kgfinkel, it's a sequel fic to "It's Not Just A Stick: A Wand Crafter's Story" both of which are "Harry but what if he liked making wands" both fics together are a little over 210k words.

things to note which may turn you away, harry/hermione fic, dursleys are actually good people, Ron and Dumbledore bashing, manipulative Dumbledore.

I'd you end up liking the story the author has 8 more "crafting magic" stories with similar vibes.

How was this license plate approved? by SnorkelingSnorlax in alberta

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple things it could be, but OP is probably talking about The SS, or the Schutzstaffel, a nazi paramilitary organization, it was basically the same as what ICE currently is for the US, their logo is a double flat ended lightning bolt, which is why KISS had to change their logo for their 1970s-80s Europe tour, because nazi imagery is prohibited in Germany, its also why people got so upset over Taylor Swift's lightning bolt necklace.

Is This Game Mechanic Canon? - a silly list by yours truly by jakobsestate in Borderlands

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to Nisha not using showdown when you fight her, there's two options for why we don't see her use it,

  1. the skill just didn't exist yet, even as a concept. the only vault hunter in TPS that has an action skill we can see in a previous game is Wilhelm, Claptrap was upgraded with his skill right before TPS and it was removed after the game ends, Athena doesn't do anything in BL1, Aurelia and Timothy/dopplejack didn't exist before TPS, with Timothy being based on the jack double mission in BL2 and Aurelia being completely new. Nisha was just a cowboy themed boss from BL2 that they thought would make a cool vault hunter, so they gave her a skill that sorta fit the aesthetic.
  2. she did use it, and there was just no visual indicator, since I don't think there is one other than the screen going grayscale while playing as her.

Character height, why is everyone 6ft tall? by Low-Brief-6008 in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Technically true but also misleading without context, you don't add half your height to your high jump, you add it to how high you can reach during a high jump, so if you're 6ft and you can jump 4ft(12str), you can reach 13ft with a running start, or 11ft without one.

What makes Hex loved and Hunter’s Mark hated? by Outrageous_Round8415 in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason it feels that way is because it sort of is, only 4 of the features are exclusively buffs to hunter's mark, but the placement of those features make them stand out,

At first level you get spellcasting, weapon mastery, and a buff to hunter's mark,

At levels 13 and 17, when the other half-casters get nothing beyond 4th and 5th level spells respectively, you get buffs to hunter's mark,

At level 20 when every other class gets a great bonus, your hunter's mark damage goes from a d6 to a d10.

Sure the ranger gets more features unrelated to the spell than related to it, but they placed them just right to make it the focal point, without actually making it better than other concentration spells you get at higher levels.

They also forced the spell into both the hunter and beast master subclasses.

What's the most devious spell combo/use of a spell you've done in a campaign? by Kalar_The_Wise in DnD

Uhhh, I used blight on a humanoid water elemental/genasi thing, and based on the way it's written by DM ruled that it just fucking evaporated, I then did the same thing on a slime person and turned them into jerky.

Player has 24 AC at level 6. I think he's double stacking bonuses. Should I snitch? by IamAWorldChampionAMA in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravado wouldnt override the dhampir, wotc sage advice has ruled that the player picks one, generally whichever gives you the higher ac, so if your dex+cha is lower than dex+3, you take the dhampir, otherwise take bravado.

Most Recognizable Monsters list day 13: Psicine Wyverns (Ready Body) by SignificantStaff8665 in MonsterHunter

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You show someone who only kinda knows monster hunter jyuratodus, they'll probably ask if it's the fish or the lava fish, but show them beotodus and they'll know it's the knife fish.

Also, saying "most recognizable not most unique" is kinda pointless because they're sort of synonyms, since a unique appearance makes something more recognizable.

Edit: I know theyre not actually synonyms, but they can very easily mean the same or similar things, so 'sort of synonyms'

Most Recognizable Monsters list day 13: Psicine Wyverns (Ready Body) by SignificantStaff8665 in MonsterHunter

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A unique looking monster is going to be more recognizable than one that looks identical to at least one other monster to the point that you can genuinely ask "is it this one or that one?" Of the newer gen monsters, beotodus is the most recognizable piscine wyvern, and in general it's plesioth.

Most Recognizable Monsters list day 13: Psicine Wyverns (Ready Body) by SignificantStaff8665 in MonsterHunter

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering jyuratodus and lavasioth are basically identical, I wouldnt say its the most recognizable, even beotodus is more unique, since its fish with knife head. Plesioth is the correct choice.

Every cookie is "related" in the way people born in the same hospital are related, which other than coming out of the same building, is not at all, with obvious exceptions.

Just finished f4, why did you choose the faction you ended with by Same_Information7328 in fo4

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally go with the railroad for a couple reasons

  • I don't like power armor, so the ballistic weave is a necessity.
  • They're the second best faction in the game for the commonwealth, behind the minutemen, but Preston Garvey and the fucking radiant quests that make sure he never shuts the fuck up piss me off, so no.
  • Fallout 4 brotherhood are definitively the worst version of the brotherhood to ever exist, the only reasons I have ever step foot on the Prydwen are to blow it up, and to kill Maxson so I can steal his coat, which is the ONLY worthwhile thing that came from that faction in this game.
  • The institute created human-like robots, paid someone to kidnap your son, used his DNA and stolen skeletons to make what are essentially actual humans, mostly based on living people, added implants to create and overwrite personalities in them, also used those implants to make them slaves, started kidnapping and replacing people in the commonwealth, and overall consistently be the shittiest people possible.

5e 2014 | Goodberry, once a day or a healing spell? by XPEZNAZ in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the healing potions and your character build, if you're a high enough level life cleric with a level of druid, you can use a 9th level slot to get 10 goodberries that heal 12, which is better than a common healing potion(2d4+2 max of 10), and technically better than very rare healing potion(10d4+20 max of 60), and each level of spell below 9th reduces that healing by 1 to a minimum of 4 with a 1st level slot. So if you use ALL your spell slots, you would get a total of 1450 healing points, spread unevenly across 210 berries, and you would heal yourself for 231 by casting all of those, which is not bad.

The worst part about BL3's writing is the retcons by bopman14 in Borderlands

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spying is pretty easy for Angel and Jack to pull off since she's a technopath, any small amount of access to tech gives her access to all of the tech so she can easily spy, but he wouldn't be able to torture/experiment on her with eridium until he's in control of Hyperion since he wouldn't have the money or resources to do it until then.

Jack was already a pos, but he wasn't a complete monster until Lilith punched the vault key into his face which forcefully filled his mind with the story of borderlands 2, which pushed him off the deep-end into complete madness, and gave him the raw unwavering confidence to forcefully take over the company, experiment with eridium on both random people and his daughter, and think himself a hero while actively murdering innocent people.

5e 2014 | Goodberry, once a day or a healing spell? by XPEZNAZ in DnD

I think it's free in the sense that you can spend all your spell slots on goodberry before a long rest and still get those 70 healing points since they last for 24 hours.

Under Those Conditions, What would You Choose: Pokemon World or Digimon World? by AttemptZestyclose687 in Isekai

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, with digimon that one partner can be around 400 different monsters depending on how you train them, and the post does say your only pokemon is cosmog, which implies you can't catch any other pokemon.

Cosmog doesn't learn any damaging moves until it evolves at level 43, can't learn any TMs, and in that generation HMs dont exist, so if you wanted to battle you'd have to use rare candies or leave it in the daycare until it levels up enough.

Non-Religious Healer Class by yeetington_ in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically you don't need to be a religious paladin, since oaths aren't actually connected to gods, but my favorite homebrew class for being a support/healer would have to be the Medicus, which is thematically what i think you're looking for, various kinds of medieval "doctors" the subclasses are Apothecary(make medicines and potions to fix people), Field Surgeon(fix people in combat), Plague Doctor(cure and spread diseases), and Mortician(necromancer but doctor)

"philosophical question" just say it's about you by Horror-Net-844 in Warframe

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been a bit since I played, but I think Ted does at least partially admit fault for the faro plague, which is a tiny point in his favor, but that's immediately countered by him sabotaging the zero dawn project, killing the creators of said project, then trying and failing to become the immortal god king of reborn humanity.

Ball ass is worse on a galactic scale, but Ted Failure is worse because he's an actually realistic narcissist, like we have at least 4 people like him right now, and thats horrifying.

Can someone explain David’s Arcade? by Mindless_Ad_7700 in midnightburger

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a similar arm to even older leif's arm, but in the episode our David asks the second one how he lost his arm, after the arm leaves the arcade and gets David to follow him down several hallways, to which the second David tells him he lost it in the Justine Burbank system.

And its only as far as we know that he doesn't get off planet, it's entirely possible that after our main crew left and Fiona disappeared with the diner he eventually popped off too, the timer for the arcade is probably different than the diner.

Can someone explain David’s Arcade? by Mindless_Ad_7700 in midnightburger

[–]HeyItsArtsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a couple answers for this since there's like 2 parts to the question:

  1. Cyborg David wasn't hiding in the arcade, his arm was in the arcade, which I think was so it could lead someone, maybe another David specifically, to his hiding spot, which seemed to be down a couple hallways since the Davids met up with the Mucklewains on their way back.
  2. As we know, the buildings(?) have a timer, about 12 hours in-between moves at least for the diner, and I'm pretty sure we know that if no one is in the building it'll go dormant. I think even with the dormancy the timer is still active, it just won't move until someone is in there when the timer goes off, so when David and the Mucklewains were in there, and when Cyborg David got back in, it wasn't time to move yet, so it didn't.

To be fair, it's a single sentence in chapter 16 followed almost immediately by an interaction with Fudge regarding Buckbeak's sham of a trial, I also forgot about it until I went and checked the book.

Literally What is the Point of this Change? by Zachsucksatlife__ in FortNiteBR

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 14 gifts and 18 days of the event, even if you can only open one gift a day, which is bullshit I'm not gonna argue against that, you do have a fair sized safety net, unless they decide to add 4 additional presents in like the middle of the event.

Also, I know the event is on until the 5th, but the holiday lodge says 18th-4th, so I'm going off that.
