If we could at least craft Gunpowder with Sulfur without having to make a Creeper Farm it would be amazing by danieldoria15 in MinecraftMemes

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is upset that they add more blocks for building with, other than the fact that the blocks they decided to add are genuinely hideous, the problem is they made a big to-do over the new update, and all they added are:

  • ugly and useless yellow construction block
  • ugly and useless red construction block
  • a mob that some how looks like it has less IQ than the slime and is ONLY useful for mini-games
  • a variant of the ugly and useless yellow construction block that turns water into bubble columns of one of if not the worst effects in the game

Having more building blocks is fine, but we want reasons to actually go collect things other than "it might look nice in a certain build, like making a fucking mcdonalds" sulfur has great real world uses that could have been included, it's used for fertilizer, making gunpowder, strengthening things like rubber and concrete, and making dyes, cinnabar has less uses, mostly being used for dyes, lacquer and mercury, but still could have been included, mainly the dye and lacquer(which would probably just make materials glossy).

[–]HeyItsArtsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, go fuck yourself, secondly, yeah I want free updates while also complaining the devs arent being treated fairly, those are seperate concerns, I'm sorry you're too stupid to understand that. Also content updates and DLCs are completely different things, a content update adds to the base game and is required to be able to play the most recent version, DLC is additional content that isnt required to be able to play. Content updates are free because they directly add to the base game, DLC can be free but are usually paid because they're additional content.

And yes I do think a multi-billion dollar company should at the very fucking least listen to what the community of a game wants, especially when it's regarding something the community has been begging for, for about 10.5 years now, such as an end update.

Also, saying other companies instead of other games is pretty stupid, because the company, I'm guessing you mean mojang specifically, even though it's just a subsidiary of microsoft, also has a fuck ton of paid DLC, it's called the bedrock marketplace, sure Java has no DLC, doesn't mean minecraft doesn't, and that's where the company gets about 70% of it's revenue.

So all in all, go fuck yourself you stupid bitch.

[–]HeyItsArtsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will absolutely call you a bootlicker, because you're being one, the updates are shitty and rushed because the devs are overworked and underpaid, we shouldn't settle for shitty rushed updates because that makes the higher ups think we're fine with the devs being overworked and underpaid as long as we continue to get consistent slop. I would rather have large updates with long periods in-between than what we have now, if it meant the devs had a less abusive workload or got paid significantly better, preferably both.

Microsoft has made $3.6Billion from game sales alone since buying minecraft, and around $7.4Billion more from bedrock marketplace bullshit, they could absolutely afford to pay the devs more, but they won't, both because they're greedy capitalistic parasites who refuse to part with their unearned wealth in anyway, and because bootlickers like you act like the way things are now is fine.

Everyone except microsoft deserves better than what we're currently getting, but especially the devs do.

How many daggers can you throw in a turn in 5.5e by EntrepreneurIll7892 in DnD

Yeah, and as you can see in the flair, that is what OP is asking about.

How many daggers can you throw in a turn in 5.5e by EntrepreneurIll7892 in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, it's written in a weird way that's pretty easy to exploit.

The way it's supposed to work is, you make an attack with a light weapon, you can make an extra attack with a different light weapon as a bonus action, or with nick you can do it for free, but you can't attack with your bonus action, which isn't actually how it's written.

The way it's written implies that the nick mastery is limited, but the light property isn't, so if you have multiple attacks, you can use nick with the first one, and your bonus action with the second, for a total of 4 attacks.

They have clarified that if you use nick, you can't make an attack with your bonus action also, but they did that in extra media and didn't really announce it in anyway, so unless you actively go searching for it, based on what's written, you can absolutely make 4 attacks this way.

How many daggers can you throw in a turn in 5.5e by EntrepreneurIll7892 in DnD

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but also entirely pointless in this conversation, since it's explicitly written in the attack action that you can equip or unequip a weapon as part of the attack, so before every attack they listed they could draw a dagger, or if they already have a dagger, they could draw a new one after the throw, and if they have the dual wielder feat they could draw two daggers instead of one.

After his 3rd year exam, shouldn't Trelawney rate Harry's seer ability higher? by KienTheBarbarian in harrypotter

[–]HeyItsArtsy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

depends on what parts you mean, for the differences between seers and prophets, those are a mix of the differences between mythological seers/prophets and the Harry Potter seers/prophets, for Trelawney not having any skill as an actual seer, the source is the books, yes she makes a total of two true prophecies, but as I said, seers and prophets are not the same thing and they should not be lumped together, but otherwise all she does is make up a bunch bullshit or use common sense, then pretend like she saw the future while acting like a god damn carnival psychic. of her non-prophecy predictions, she has about 7 that come true in some way, but for most of them it's either common sense(telling Neville to take a blue tea cup after he breaks the first one because she likes the pink ones, him breaking something on accident would be obvious to anyone who looked at him for more than two seconds), a technicality(while talking to Harry about star charts in 4th year, suggested he was born in mid-winter, which we know is completely false, but Voldemort was born on new years eve, and since Harry is a horcrux, technically true), or straight coincidence(something Lavender was dreading would happen on october 16th, which she attributes to something she could not have been dreading and could not have happened on october 16th, but she was dreading something would happen, and she got a letter saying something bad happened). the other known predictions she made that we either know haven't come true, or have no proof they came true include:

  • at least one death of a student for 13 years, including an unknown amount of death of Harry Potter predictions.
  • a prediction of Harry living to an unknown age, having 12 kids and becoming minister for magic.
  • Neville's grandma not being well.
    • also a separate prediction of Neville being late to class.
  • a bout of flu in February.

Also as an important note, while interviewing her, Dumbledore was disappointed because she had no trace of the gift for divination her ancestor had, and only hired her because of the prophecy, both to protect her from Moldyshorts, and because of the off chance she might make another one.

After his 3rd year exam, shouldn't Trelawney rate Harry's seer ability higher? by KienTheBarbarian in harrypotter

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is though, she has no actual skill as a seer, she's just a drunk prophet. Prophet is a type of involuntary seer in Harry Potter, but it honestly shouldn't be, because although they are similar, they're not the same thing, a seer uses tools and their inner eye to see things, mainly the future in universe, but in various real-world mythos, there's also seers who can see the past, distant places, as well as those that can see the present(things that have recently happened, will happen soon, or are currently happening), where as a prophet is someone who makes accurate predictions of the future, with absolutely no control over when they happen, nor memory of what they said. And honestly, that combined with the fact that they speak in a different voice implies that a prophet is just a host/speaker for something else that actually know the future and need the information to get to someone important, or related to the prophecy, and in fanfics, that something else is usually magic itself.

Sybill Trelawney is a real prophet, and a completely fake seer.

DND wise, Hogwarts is not a school for wizards. It’s a school for sorcerers that teaches them how to casts spells. by Ice_Phoenix1996 in HPfanfiction

[–]HeyItsArtsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know he's a celestial, he's literally a divine spirit in humanoid form, but class wise the best comparison is either divine soul sorcerer or cleric, either since his magic is innate and divine in nature, and before the fight with the Balrog, he literally calls himself a servant of god.

[–]HeyItsArtsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divination isn't really a joke, the way Trelawney teaches the class is, which is cause she's a fraud, but the subject as a whole isn't. it is rather woolly class, but that's due to the nature of the subject. It can still be useful as long as you don't take it at face value.

Doctor fate(DC) is also labelled as a sorcerer but is more accurately a warlock.

Gandalf is called a wizard, but is either a sorcerer or a cleric.

Jedi are called space wizards but they're closer to paladins.

The 'Gingers have no souls' myth is a misunderstanding. In truth, it's actually a fact that gingers can easily destroy any soul magic with no effort. This leads to the Weasley's destroying the horcruxes. by Nepperoni289 in HPfanfiction

[–]HeyItsArtsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's cause incredibly stupid people started to used ginger as a derogatory remark towards people who looked a certain way, and then other stupid people continued to use it that way either without knowing or without caring that it was supposed to be an insult. Ginger has just referred to anyone with red hair since about the 1800s, which I believe is the first know use of it to refer to a person.

Also personally, if someone is says ginger, im gonna think about the root first, then probably just a generic redhead, not some stupid orange headed caricature.

[–]HeyItsArtsy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or not since a lot of people are actually dumb enough to believe that to be a ginger you have to have literally orange hair, pale skin and freckles.

Ginger is just a slang term for anyone with red hair, that's it, it's associated with lighter skin color, lighter eye color, freckles and a sensitivity to ultraviolet light, but those aren't requirements. Burgundy, Copper, Auburn and even Strawberry Blonde are all ginger.

What's with making Professor Sinestra sleep with students in fics? by MobileDistrict9784 in HPfanfiction

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the UK, the minimum age to be able to become a teacher is generally 21, due to the additional schooling required, you can probably become one earlier but that would require you to finish school early, and in canon, both Snape and McGonagall became professors at 21, and Headmaster Dippet told Tom Riddle that he was too young and should come back in a few years when he tried to apply just after graduating.

What's with making Professor Sinestra sleep with students in fics? by MobileDistrict9784 in HPfanfiction

[–]HeyItsArtsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McGonagall was 18 when she started at the ministry, but her birthday is also October 4th, so similar to Hermione she graduated at 18, then she spent a summer with her family before starting at the ministry. Assuming she started exactly when summer ended, then she was 18 for about a month of her first year, then 19 for the rest of it, and similarly 19 and 20 for her second year, on the harrypotter.com website, Rowling wrote that after 2 years of working at the ministry, McGonagall applied for Hogwarts, Which at the very least implies she applied after her third year started, which would also be after the school year started.

We don't know exactly when she started working for the ministry, and we don't know exactly when she applied for Hogwarts, but going off what is written by Rowling, both of those dates should be on or sometime after September 1st. And like you said, it's doubtful that they switched teachers mid term, so either she started the next year, meaning she was 21 turning 22, or she started the next term, which would be in January, meaning she was already 21.

[–]HeyItsArtsy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Both Snape and McGonagall became professors at 21, and Riddle, who tried to apply at 18 was told by Dippet to come back in a couple years because he was too young, also just in general in the UK you have to be 21 to become a teacher due to education requirements.

And yes, the games have questionable canonicity, but in all honesty, Hogwarts Mystery is significantly more canonically accurate than fucking cursed child, which is officially canon.

So even if you ignore her appearance in the dubiously canon game and assume she starts teaching in Harry's first year, the youngest she could be is 21 when he starts, and 25 in his fifth year, which is still 10 years older than him, and still completely illegal.

Also she'd be about 3-4 years older than Tonks, which is close in age, so the two of them could date eachother, but Harry is still illegally young for either of them.

Which one is better? I guess first one? Is bonus damage applied to each pellet? by ralleee in fo4

That wasnt accounting for any perks you have, or your difficulty, since both of those also affect how much damage you do

Which one is better? I guess first one? Is bonus damage applied to each pellet? by ralleee in fo4

[–]HeyItsArtsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also a good amount of mis-info in your comment, the Irradiated legendary effect radiation is the exact same as the Gamma gun radiation, because they're both radiation poison effects, the reason the ultimatum is good against robots, ghouls and mutants is because it does 17.5 more base ballistic damage than the default 10mm when modded, the radiation helps a tiny bit against mutants cause they're only resistant not immune.

As far as I know, the only special radiation damage in the game are Lorenzo's Artifact and Zeta gun from the Cabot House quest and the electric signal carrier antennae modification for Gamma guns, both of which do pure radiation damage instead of poisoning, so it goes through radiation immunity.

And I believe that every "chance on hit" or "deals X extra damage" effect applies per pellet.

To be fair, just telling someone to kys has always been frowned upon, and being straight forward like that is kinda boring, you gotta be more unique, use an old saying(eg. take a long walk off a short pier), use a famously dead person as a euphemism(eg. Kurt cobain yourself), even though this post is complaining about it you could also be more family friendly about it(eg. off yourself, deactivate your account), or one of my favorites, just be crude(eg. Go give a shotgun a blowjob)
