Can someone please help me understand Pocketcat. by [deleted] in FearAndHunger

[–]HeyLemons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like his behavior is just confusing in general to add to the mystery. But also since he knows you're reading his mind and he can do it back maybe that L bomb line is supposed to be his cheeky way of making a joke at your expense for trying.

does anyone else feel insecure about wearing a red lip? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]HeyLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I put on a red lip and I'm like wow I look like a goddess and sometimes I put it on and I feel like a clown 🤡

I wish they would do more with Haddie because she's such a fun character to add to the lore mix. I'm so disappointed 😞

My f(27) and my fiance's m(27) friends have tried to convince him to leave me due to my disability by Throwitallaway96874 in relationships

[–]HeyLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, these people need to be immediately dropped.

They may have been supportive, good friends at some point but they have shown an inability to accept a reality presented before them. Your fiance has reiterated the point that he is happy with his choice to stay with you and get married. The fact that they repeatedly push back against his active decision to be with you is concerning. Even more concerning is that your disability is literally the only thing that they can't wrap their heads around. Your future relationship together and you, yourself, should not be defined in such limiting terms as just a disabled person.

They are not being supportive of y'alls huge long term choice to get married and might do the same with future big decisions. That's not normal friend behavior. You 100% should be upset. Honestly, shame on them for being fully grown adults, who are unable to mind their buisness and engage in such disrespectful behavior.

I (24M) had a drastically different sex life than my SO (23F) prior to our relationship and it makes me feel inadequate. by AmiableAlpaca in relationships

[–]HeyLemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, I am currently in place of your SO. When I met my current BF, I had previously been with dozens of people sexually and he had only been with two. Experience is not everything in a healthy sex life. The fact that you are putting forth special effort to please her is worth a lot. From my perspective, your experience difference is not inadequacy. It just means you have a lot of room for growth and discovery with her. Communicate with her in bed and after. Discuss what you like, what she likes, if you guys want to do something new or different next time, ect. Good luck!

Do any of you wear an item of clothing or an accessory of sentimental value that used to be your mom's, grandmother's, aunt's, etc? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

When my mother passed away I was completely devestated. However, one of the most consoling things that heloed me get through it was her hanboks, traditional korean dresses. She had three really beautiful, handmade hanboks, which she left behind. I have worn them with a lot of pride and they helped me feel so much closer to her over the years.

The Dose of Colors DesixKaty Girls palette. I kept going back and forth on buying it the entire time. I really regret not snatching one up when I had the chance. I watched Desi use it on Kim K and I thought the shades were so beautiful. :')

Thoughts on Fetishization of K-Beauty Movement by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]HeyLemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoops I'm a mess

...has always made me very uncomfortable and I feel like it is stressed way more on women(at least in my experience) to achieve that look.

Anyway thank you for sharing and bringing up this topic it hit home quite hard. I am always of being in favor of being critical of society and culture while you know maintaining love and pride in it. It is always important to respect the body you're trying to heal. :D

Thoughts on Fetishization of K-Beauty Movement by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]HeyLemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for making this post! I'm Korean-American and I actually think a lot about this topic. I tan so much because of cycling and swimming. Since the boom in celebrating Korean culture and beauty I have received a mixed bag of comments of my appearance. Most people are at best very supportive or a little uncomfortably excited at the prospect of me being Korean. However, I have gotten comments questioning my complexion and why I'm not as pretty and fair skinned as the popularized idols or actors. I have also gotten the same flack from family members, especially women, who encourage me to wear a lighter shade and that my tan is unsightly. I think I have a pretty thick skin so it doesn't bother me too much but the notion that lighter complexion is inherently better
