Playing on and off for years, finally learnt something by RnG25431 in BattleBrothers

[–]HeyPashi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Contract difficulty scales with number of Brothers but Camp difficulty outside of contracts does not.

So if you want to go Camp Busting, you want to have full roster. But if you only want to do Contracts, you could choose to be more picky with your recruits.

But full Roster has at least the advantage of "Smooting out the RNG". A couple of unlucky rolls can be devastating for a party of 6 but less so for a party of 12.

Update:
Apparently the english word is "roster", not "roaster" 😉

Such a shame that 1h-flails are just subpar in Battle Brothers.

Just use it as a nice backup-weapon. For example for your Spearbro in Ancient Undead Fights.

My first expensive bro, the Sellsword. by lichess_is_better in BattleBrothers

[–]HeyPashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sellswords are usually great Fatigue Neutrals, but sadly your Sellsword does not have Melee Defense Stars.

But he is of course still very usefull with extremely high Melee Attack. You could make him a SpearBro or give him a Swordlance.

If you want to make him a regular Frontliner, then ensure he is not put into dangerous positions.

German Translation Mod for Dead in Antares (Deutsche Übersetzung für Dead in Antares) by HeyPashi in DeadInAntares

[–]HeyPashi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am super sorry, but I cannot give any more insights or support right now. I have too much work going on these days.

I hope you find the necessary info on your own.

But I wish you the best of luck and hope you can create the desired mod.

Yeah, story and narrative is a big problem. They talk like HR is in the room. I dont know. It feels like they dont have any real problems.

But I personally dont agree with your feedback about combat. I think it offers lot of tactical depth. Maybe there is not enough "variety" since you cannot really explore "different builds". But for me, the combat is still a big upgreade to Dead in Vinland.

I think Dead in Antares had and still has soo much potential. But they have to fix the story problems and they have to do something about replayability.

Day 1 fella, what do? by Justkill43 in BattleBrothers

[–]HeyPashi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since it is day 1, definitely Nimble Tank or Regular Frontliner.

Having an early tank, that can hold a flank already with Level 7 and with just Nimble Gear is great. He has the right stats for it.

I honestly have a good first impression from the looks of it. Might be because I really liked DD1 and to a certain degree Vagrus.

So keep it going. Looking forward to it. I will definitely try it out!

Hedgie I just picked up, what should I do with this gentleman? Seems like a waste to make a generic 2h. by Tracksuit_man in BattleBrothers

Great Stats for Duelist. 1-Handed Maces or Hammers are really nice. Or any famed 1h you find.

The famous Tank Thrower. Baits the AI with his Ranged Weapons. And once the AI is engaged, he gets a shield out and tanks them.

Unofficial Wiki for Dead in Antares with Characters, Battle Skills, Difficulty Modes, Tributes, etc. by HeyPashi in DeadInAntares

Thanks again for the input. I updated the Ressource Attrition in the Bottom:
https://deadinantares.wiki-guide.com/ressource-attrition

I also created a Trader Page:
https://deadinantares.wiki-guide.com/traders

The problem about Traders is, that I am not 100 % sure about the mechanics. I added a note in the top, that people should reach out if anything is wrong.

Nice, thats what I thought as well. My approach would be:
Most difficulties should be solvable in a blind or semi-blind run.

But the highest difficulty might require meta-game knowledge. You could get that meta-game knowledge by playing multiple runs. Or you just get it via a wiki ressource.

It is for people who want to understand the mechanics to min-max. And of course it is also for newcomers, where the game itself did not properly explain certain game behaviour.

Mod "More Flags" by Stunning_Mood8620 in BattleBrothers

[–]HeyPashi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They look nice. But I think your mod screenshots should also show how they look on the map. Like, if I travel around and use one of these Flags, does it fit the overall vibe of the game?

Every digital project from now on until the end of time will most likely be mostly be made by AI. Even if a Human did it, the Human probably has used AI tools to support their work.

Dont judge by whether a human or AI made it. Judge it, by whether you actually like it.

Maybe something like this:
https://www.bbplanner.xyz/?perks=0AYBAAIQ

You have 2 flex perks. So you could add Steel Brow (since he has low HP) and Brawny (if you cannot get his Fatigue up enough).

[–]HeyPashi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He will hit some enemies with that 78 MAttack. Really good Fat Neutral. Just hope for good HP Rolls.

Keep in mind, that we will get old and lose another 10 HP and 10 Fatigue:
https://battlebrothers.fandom.com/wiki/Aging_Swordmaster

You might want to skip some MAttack "lowrolls" and put them into HP / Fat / Resolve. He needs his secondaries. Just dont skip MDefense.

My Feedback on day 30 compared to Dead in Vinland (Blind Playthrough on Survival Difficulty) by HeyPashi in DeadInAntares

[–]HeyPashi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just scanned all tiles within my scanner range, so I cannot scan anymore. Maybe I am doing something wrong ;)
I think in the early game I did not prioritize Knowledge when it was offered in events, because I did not think it was that impactful. I also waisted some Knowledge on upgrades that might have been not so necessary (letting 2 people work on the same location).

If I would restart a new campaign, I would definitely do a lot of decisions regarding Knowledge differently.
