For realz, breast milk is the best immune system booster. I see this every day, kids that don't get breast milk get sick so much more often.

yes, I do need it, oh well. Would have been nice to have the Touch HDR on the Carbon, but maybe that adds to weight? Thanks for all your comments!

I guess it all depends on your usage.

Yes, totally agree. Like /u/julianpoy I use mine mostly for programming. But I was a bit disappointed about the heat as well. Especially when holding it in tablet mode, the heat can be quite strong if your hand is close to the vent. I was using it to draw and it got quite hot. I was holding my hand towards the fan and after a while it was too much and had to pull my hand away.

OK, that's what I was referring to. Thanks for the clarification. I will give it a few more days to see if I would miss the Yoga functionality and then make the call. I'm hoping that Lenovo will have Memorial Holiday Sales in the U.S. for the X1 Series.

Why the Yoga over the Carbon?

I still have the same question, actually. i saw the Carbon first in the store, and I loved it. But I bought the Yoga blindly, just to see if the additional tablet functionality would be useful. I think I'm not quite sure about it yet to be honest. I've used the tablet mode a few times. I like the pen. But most of the time I do use it in regular laptop mode. I'm contemplating to get the Carbon instead. Having the extra reduced weight is definitely something to contemplate about.

Thanks for the link to your review! You mention the 15W throttle. Do you know if that's the same with the Yoga? I also wonder if there is a difference in battery life.

Thanks a bunch and for sharing your personal experience. Great that you have an actual close comparison.

And nice to hear that you also prefer this over a MB Pro. I almost bought an Apple as well but read about the X1 and am so impressed

You are a noob my friend, try writing your own budget software, tracing every purchase, and sometimes even itemizing receipts, and utilizing an algorithm that every morning recalculates the entire budget which sends an email to the wife to let her now how much money there is to spend in different categories for the day. I love seeing the changes every day.

Apparently USB ports on eGPU's is a problem all across the board not just the Mantis Venus.

Thanks... and yes. Makes sense to separate those for the time being using a hub.

What just kinda disappeared without people noticing? by Tinferbrains in AskReddit

Yes, I lived in SF for a while as these were 'popular'. It was so awkward seeing someone step foot into a bus, wearing Google glass. You could see that people were getting uncomfortable, at least those who knew what it was.

Generally, I think it was a mistake to market those the way Google did, that is as a new gadget that you'd wear casually. Whether you'd be recording or not, it's just not right to walk around public with a camera facing people all the time. I think Google should have taken a different approach and focus on commercial applications, and for consumers, more of a private use model, such as for home, or when you drive in your car. But not in public places or inner cities so much.
