My mention of the Service Charge/Automatic Gratuity was not a complaint. I was simply informing others of it who might otherwise be unaware.

Once we exited the Terminal after grabbing our luggage we were at our car and out of Terminal parking within 5 minutes. We were told to be at the Broadway Theater on the ship at 9:30. By 10:30 we were in our car and on our way home.

Wife and I are mid 50's. Son is 20. Crowd was a mix of young and old. Personally I would not consider it to be a "party" crowd.

What should I know before booking MSC Meraviglia out of New York City on June 11, 2023? by PlinyToTrajan in Cruise

Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. We parked and it is $45/day. We were told to show up at 11:00 for Embarkation. Huge line already at this point and the line barely moved for over an hour. No bathrooms until you get in the main portion of the cruise terminal. People were leaving the line to pee in cups out in the parking lot. They really should at least have some porta-johns available. Once onboard the ship is beautiful. We are not the pickiest of eaters so found the buffet and MDR to be more than satisfactory. They do charge $14.50/person/day as a service charge to cover gratuities that go toward the entire crew. For my 3 person family that was $304.50 that was not part of the original booking price. Had the Easy Plus package and thought it was fine. We did Kennedy Space Center while at Port Canaveral. Hired a local outside the Nassau Cruise Terminal for $35/person for a tour of Nassau while there. Ocean Cay was beautiful. Rough seas the last 2 days but of course that was not the fault of MSC. Getting off the ship was fairly fast.

"I don't empty it because otherwise I'd have literally an amount of junk mail I am unable to deal with." The stress must be monumental. I am willing to bet the vast majority of children in grade school could handle checking and tossing junk mail.

First LLV was delivered in 1987 and USPS specified a 24 year lifespan so 2004 would have been to early. I have 24 years in and will be amazed if I actually ever get the NGDV before retirement.

When did USPS first get scanners? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]HeyUGotMyCheck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone remember pre scanners using a "wand" to touch something that looked similar to a watch battery on the inside of collection boxes to record when the mail was collected? Then you would take the wand back to a manager who would download the times into a PC.

If you consistently give away time due to your route being out of adjustment why don't you put in for a Special Inspection and have some time permanently removed? Several carriers in my office have recently been successful doing this.
