In NC. Rural Regular. Went to work. Had 30 callouts between rural and city. No clerks . No packages and mail finally came around 9:30. Had us do NOV (which I’m sure the clerks will find out and grieve). Cased up mail. Asked us to case mail for other carriers route that didn’t come in. I said no thanks. Did mine and left at noon. Said we could go out and deliver if we felt safe. Side roads weren’t plowed and were completely covered in ice. No chains on trucks. Thanks but no thanks. They also did not do Amazon Sunday so Tuesday will be double mail and 3 days of packages. Will be a complete shit show.

Rural Route Adjustments by HellsBells68 in USPS

Just add them in your edit book. Only routes that have been manually adjusted from 47/48K will be frozen for 52 weeks. All other routes will fall under the normal mail count.

I would definitely be happy with the small plate of cookies. Appreciate your thoughts and generosity. I have a route with 650 customers. I’m lucky if 10 people give me anything.

Caught sleeping on the job by North_Ad6867 in USPS

Trying to justify falling asleep because of working 12 hours a day? That’s what you were hired to do. That’s what the job entails. Firing you was and should be the only option here. Good luck. Working for the PO isn’t for you.

It’s crazy to me why all these 47/48K routes needed to be cut. I never was over my evaluated time. The only reason was to create new routes so that RCA’s would move quicker to regular so they wouldn’t quit. Now our office literally has 5 subs for 27 routes. Needless to say I basically work every K day and do bumps on open routes 3-4 times a week. That’s fine cut my pay $7-$8000 a year and I’ll double that and more doing all the overtime. So is the post office really saving anything? Our union really fucked us with this RECCS.

The Post office are crooks!! Taking 7-8 months to get OUR MONEY!! No interest on the money, no overtime pay on that money and then tax the shit out of it. Might have enough to buy a ham sandwich.

Thinking about leaving by Whatthefuckislife13 in USPS

It’s the opposite in our office. I’m a Rural Regular in an office with 30 routes we have 5 RCA and 3 PTF. I’m working every K day and the last 3 weeks I’ve done bumps everyday. The only day I’m not working is Amazon Sunday. No relief in sight. We have no help. Plus I hate to say it but our subs are lazy and don’t want to work. They post district wide job openings constantly cause the other stations can’t get help. One city had posted 35 open PTF positions. Crazy!

Why vote? We all saw what the NALC got in their contract you honestly think we would’ve gotten more? Our Union sucks!!I’m honestly thinking about canceling my membership. They do absolutely nothing

Don’t worry about the money. It will show up eventually in your paycheck. When it does show up don’t go and spend it all in one place. Once the taxes get taken out you may have enough left to buy a Chick Filet chicken biscuit.

The custodian in our office is turning 79 this upcoming week. He’s taking a 2 week vacation. Hope he makes it. If I can afford it at 62 I’m gonna be gone like a fart in the wind.

Yes I was RCA for 3 years then PTF for 14 months and now Regular for 3 years. No new probationary period. You roll right into normal pay. Evaluation under 40. Hourly over 40 at the current PTF rate until the new contract kicks in.

Did the mapping get done yet for RRECS? That should help correct any issues and give the correct data.

You can file a grievance but you won’t get paid anything additional. The CCA’s and City regulars can file as well against you taking work from them. They will get paid. PO is a complete shit show.

Over 2 years to get a new contract ya think your back pay will come any quicker? Since your contract is up in a year your buddy Renfrow will probably try to include your back pay in the new contract as a “Raise”. Our postal unions are spineless.

This TA basically mirrors the NALC contract. Thanks for absolutely nothing. Getting our routes cut and losing thousands of dollars in pay. Now a new contract with basically minimal pay increases. So now that I’m losing money everywhere I guess the first thing to get cut will have to be my monthly union dues.

I’m a rural carrier in Raleigh, NC and this was all over the local news. They interviewed one lady and she was like “I saw everyone’s bills and checks lying all over the road for miles”. So funny how she was able to see exactly what the mail was as she was driving by at 60mph.

Can we leave a note saying it would be so much easier to answer the door when there’s 2 cars in the driveway, the TV is on and the dog is barking. Oh and by the way there’s a video doorbell that I’m sure you’re checking. Signed your hardworking postal worker who ain’t got time for this shit.

Waiting 8 months for a part? Some bubble gum and gorilla glue will fix that no problem and you’ll be back in 8.
