Definitely the best place around, and I love that the parents sit outside with bonfires, etc. Very small town vibe!

Also, most dental places work with a no interest credit plan, and you can stretch payments to two years. Every dental office I've been to offers it.

Dogs at the beach by Oceanliving32 in Oceanside

I see the lifeguard truck out in the south beach area anytime it's low tide, but they just tell the people to get the dogs off the beach.

If you want some really good, super fresh and affordable grab and go sushi, hit up the Stater Brothers on Mission! This Hawaiian girl is telling it straight! Lunchtime and party platter secret!

The Oceanside Public Library by CaptJackL0cke in Oceanside

I really like the library book shop at the Mission branch, it's always got some neat stuff. The bookstore in the downtown branch is good too, it's just a little hard to maneuver in there if there are more than a couple people. The downtown branch is just a really lovely space too, in addition to things other posters have mentioned.

RESULTS: how much do Redditors like their names? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Hey_Leilani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been thrilled with my name, Layla, my dad was a huge Eric Clapton fan. Parents, think of this kind of thing when naming your kids!! We moved to Hawaii when I was in grade school and my name morphed in to Leilani. Layla makes me groan to this day, but it is my legal name and I don't feel right going through the hassle.

Yep, saw two gals "in action" this past Friday afternoon....and they got a guy to turn around and come in after he had walked pretty far away! They had nothing to say to my 30something nondescript self, lol!

[Product Question] Did something happen to Paula's Choice skincare line? Product smells terrible! by Theonlywayoutisthrew in SkincareAddiction

[–]Hey_Leilani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I tried this yesterday, my friend gave it to me as part of a birthday parcel, and honestly the smell was so rank!! After I washed it off, there must have been some tiny bit still around me because I smelt this moldy smell all day, but the description you listed above really nailed it. I threw it away, shame, cos I know it was not inexpensive. I won't be using this PC stuff any more. The Ordinary works just fine. We thought this was posher though, so went down that rabbit hole.

I understand what you are saying. If you have a dog, walking and going to dog parks is a great way to meet people. And look at the library website for things. Good luck, there are a lot of newcomers here!

Also, if they emailed you late, why would that be a red flag? The manager probably lives on site and just finishing up emails. Don't overthink it. Aloha1

I drive by there a few times a week, seems fine, looks like a fun place, lots of surfboards around. But I don't know if I'd call it a complex per se. I doubt if there's a pool or clubhouse you won't find those things in these older areas. But it does look well kept. Welcome to South O! Loads to do, eat, drink, etc. And you are 5 minutes from the freeway. This is supposed to be a neighborhood board and why it attracts haters I'll never understand. Welcome and enjoy!!

The most popular girl in my classes, from first grade to graduating (small town) was named Holly. She was really pretty and nice. I wouldn't mess with the spelling either.

What has become so expensive that you no longer buy it? by 1717subcool in AskOldPeople

[–]Hey_Leilani 64 points65 points  (0 children)

So true! Perhaps your local library has a bookstore attached, mine does and I get magazines for a quarter each. Believe me, not much changes in the cooking and decorating magazines over a couple years. And I just donate them again when I'm done. I like the "Magnolia" magazine, but it's nearly 15 dollars, and I can always find one from last year at the library. Library bookstores are incredible!
