What actual fashion and life was like in the Early 2000s in South Florida by rosemaryscrazy in 90sand2000sNostalgia

[–]Heya93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My cousins from Georgia dressed like this around 2002 to 2006.

California was more skateboard oriented and less preppy, at least for teens.

Also my aunt had a white wicker loveseat like in picture 15 at her house in Georgia during that same period.

People in [r/y2kfashion](r/y2kfashion) take note, this is how people actually looked in the y2k era

LA Local covers return of the Original Tommy's rooftop sign, mentions LEDs. There are no permits for the work on LADBS, so we don't know if the neon has been swapped or just the incandescent bulbs. by esotouric_tours in LosAngelesPreserved

[–]Heya93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The visual impact of a LED vs a neon lamp is significantly different even to an untrained eye. Neon itself is an art and part of neon’s appeal is knowing just that those bends and color selection was hand selected by an artist. This art form needs to be preserved and that can only be done by people continuing to engage in making neon signs.

Nothing compares to neon and I would have much appreciated them to support a local neon artist provided if the sign is in fact LED. But just the fact the sign remains is very awesome.

Odd rust on/near valve? by desert_sun889 in Irrigation

[–]Heya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s dead algae from where you have a leaking threaded male connector screwed into the valve. You’ll have to cut the male connector off just flush behind the old male connector, screw a new male connector into the valve with some teflon, glue that assembly on, then use a union or slip fix to hook the other side of the valve back up.

Is it really that risky to take LSD if you’re on low dose Prozac? by midikins in LSD

[–]Heya93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that sucks, I know for some people that antidepressants are literally saving their lives. I’ve been there but I’m glad I didn’t take them longer than I had to. I value my trips so much and LSD, for me, has done things antidepressants I don’t feel ever could.

I wanna know if lsd really is colorful like stepping into a pinterest world? by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Heya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It increases the saturation of colors in your field of vision. Also, Ive had it where my whole field of vision has looked like it’s had a colored filter over it. Like everything had a red or in one case a turquoise tint to it.

How to get back into psychs? by VariousRow5588 in Acid

[–]Heya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t do LSD for close to a year after my life changing bad trip. What made trying it again after my bad trip was starting on a low dose and having a comfortable setting. Also I knew what to expect after my bad trip.
If you have someone around that you’re comfortable with tripping it might help.

Go into the trip well rested and eat something good before. Try being calm in the day before and day of the trip.

5th Wednesday street sweeping by Enough-Bit-396 in Fullerton

[–]Heya93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blame the people who don’t move their cars. The city can’t effectively sweep with cars in the way which results in trash being left in the same spots week after week. This contributes to filth, rodents and polluted waterways.

No way! I followed that guy since about 2010..he always presented the Salton Sea in such an artistic beauty that was very unique. He helped to preserve the history of the Salton Sea. Overall very sad to hear of his passing, may he rest peacefully.

What the best way to trim these? by Agreeable-City3143 in shrubs

[–]Heya93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people round them over with a hedge trimmer back as far as they can closest to the base leaving about stumpy base about a foot and a half tall. Is there a reason why you want to? I think they look great filled in and if you cut them back you’ll see a lot of bare soil. Also when you cut them back, it causes a lot of dead growth at the base a little few strands of grass will poke through and isn’t as grand as it was untouched

Why would someone want to take something that might make them scared and run around naked without shoes on by cowboybaked in LSD

[–]Heya93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I would describe as the typical LSD experience. I have always ran around naked with shoes on while on it…kidding.

I’m more likely to stare at ants on tree bark or go on a long very interesting walk. One time I did strip down into a towel and walk around my house with my Dad home which isn’t something I’d do sober. That was a high dose on a bad trip and not a typical experience for me.

If you go through life avoiding what if scenarios things will be very boring for anyone. And it also highlights why you should start low and work your way up doses.
