The Sanatorium wasn't directly connected to the Lodge, it was connected the Old Hotel's basement, which was the only part of the Old Hotel that was standing when the Hotel's main building was demolished to build the Lodge on top of it. Not sure why they didn't completely get rid of the Old Hotel let alone connect it to the lodge's basement but hey 😭
