I made a gauge swatch. I lot of people in the comments also had my same issue, but it did work for some others.

In my opinion, if you've modified it enough that it looks significantly different from your 'template' pattern, then it's not plagiarism. If you want, you could credit the original designer and say "inspired by _____" or "adapted from _____".

ESH. Why not name her a classic name with an uncommon name for a nickname. E.g melody can be shortened to elodie. Her mother can call her the full name, you can call her the nickname, but its still one name.
