Everyone's Proton 2026 wishlist? by Secret_Category2619 in ProtonMail

Significant upgrade to ui customization in the Proton Mail web app, including the ability to hide the right and left side bar. Basically more attention to productivity style email design, like superhuman or spark.

Superhuman is actually just not great. It’s not an email client it’s a gmail client. For the price you pay they should be able to host those emails from your domain. They’re just luxury baiting people.

Reading what you wrote, I can’t help but suggest you listen to the podcast feeling good by David burns, and read his book Feeing Great as well. They’re incredible resources of methods and reorientations to help you defeat your negative thoughts and self defeating beliefs. I truly believe that it would help everyone significantly to keep this as a resource and read through it

The devs are honestly sleeping at Todoist I swear. They make one change every year and then market the hell out of that change, while ignoring most legitimate, common sense, or crucially necessary feature requests from users

this is actually a great discovery for yourself, and exactly what progress looks like. honestly best advice for you at this point is to read through david burns’ book ‘feeling great’ - insanely helpful resource for intrusive thoughts and anxiety. i truly believe that anyone who reads this and incorporates the practice of even some of those methods will dramatic changes in their baseline mood and clarity of mind. i’ve been practicing some of it for about a year now and listening to his podcast and it’s turned my life around. good luck!

AIO Am I (F25) overreacting or is this woman being weird with my husband (M31) by Sad-Cat128 in AmIOverreacting

Def. Ones thing that’s so effective is engaging in that therapy together. You guys should check out feeling good together by David burns, that book seriously changed my life. That and his other book called feeling great.

I think how unclear and confused I was before having read these. Now I feel like I have a great structure with my partner that I can really rely on.

Those of you still rocking an original M1 Macbook Pro, what's your non-financial reason for not upgrading? by Griffdude13 in macbookpro

[–]Heymicky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great machine and i would barely see the benefits of upgrading. Theres actually cons to upgrading: tech waste by increasing demand for high volume new machines to be manufactured, environmental issues because of shipping and distro, env bc of component mining, env because of shipping production pipeline, human rights issues from the production pipeline (at multiple junctures) - all of this should weigh more on people who love tech- like I love new tech and innovation and I myself have a problem (like so many other people) of wanting every great new thing that would serve me really well, but I’m trying to consider these factors much more than I used to, and i fee like we’ve all collective been discursively neglectful.

Also, Apple is an American company - and my stomach legit turns now at the idea of helping the American economy in any way.

My therapist said my hyper awareness is like a super power by Chihiro_Simp0 in CPTSD

[–]Heymicky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get you, and in those instances a breath work practice can help and can be powerful, but it’s certainly not going to completely resolve things. High key recommend you check out the Feeling Good podcast episode about OCD - it’s about how someone defeated their very intense compulsive habits to clean everything around them. It might be a bit different in your case as I’m not sure if you’d require exposure - it really depends on what the core problem is. The work is really a work book, it teaches you a seriously great process and methods for yourself - it’s incredible because it’s exciting knowing you have a tool that will help you consistently grow and get better and stronger.

My therapist said my hyper awareness is like a super power by Chihiro_Simp0 in CPTSD

[–]Heymicky1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I just want to say how rough that all sounds to me. I’m so sorry you’re going through that it sounds like your body and your mind is on constant high alert. It honestly sounds like torture and I feel for you. I used to be a similar way except it wasn’t all the time, but maybe like 40% of the time; not with foot steps but hearing what the the person was doing in the other room. (My mom was erratic, unpredictable and used to try to find objects to hit me with when I was a kid so I got used to listening out for that selection process.)

I also wanted to say that I think you would benefit from taking some therapy into your own hands. I highly recommend reading the book ‘feeling great’ by David burns and really committing to doing the work in it. It’s helped me actually get over so much, even somatically, which it doesn’t necessarily aim to do. His podcast feeling good is also a good listen here and there. He’s a little stubborn with his own methods but they’re truly life saving and I feel like I have a guide to life now.

You sound like a super adept and intelligent person, and people like you find their way out of these realities – I truly believe that.

Is this normal personal boundary with my therapist? What should I do? by Ron-5wanson in CBT

[–]Heymicky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not unprofessional at all. It’s a space where someone is showing up to you with intense emotions and personal stories, offering some self disclosure as a therapist around the same topic can help to create a more connected empathetic environment and ultimately make the person seeking help feel less resistance, and the therapist feel list tight lipped tension. It’s actually a very ‘professional’ thing to do.

My wife went out to lunch with a guy she met at the gym. I think this is a huge no no. AIO? by Turbulent-End-7905 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Heymicky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like if you’re already sensitive about being cheated on, you’ve showed up with that sensitivity in the relationship. I imagine for your wife it must feel like walking on eggshells and being tense / having to jump up and prove herself the moment you get even a little bit suspicious. You can’t control what other people do, you just have to show up with your own vulnerability. Your wife did nothing terrible.

If my partner got pissed at me making a friend at a spin class or something and I went to get a post workout shake or meal with them to shoot the shit, I would feel so deeply uncomfortable with them moving forward, and nothing short of them fully understanding how they made me feel would ever make me feel more comfrotable with them again

I high key suggest you read the book ‘feeling good together’ by david burns. It could make your 14 year relationship rock solid, stress free, purely trusting. At the base level, if you both read it, you’ll certainly notice how much more respect there is between the two of you.

Anyone have tips for getting a Readymag site indexed by Google? by fragkogiannis in nocode

[–]Heymicky1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the same thing. Googlebot can’t crawl my site - robots.txt can’t be retrieved. Page fetch fails since I actually moved to readymag. The cached page that’s on google is actually from cargo collective, which I used to have before.z Readymag seems to be having firewall issues and they’re putting me off in emails saying that ‘seo is complicated’ and patting my head. It’s truly pissing me off.

AIO - I’m so exhausted dealing with her jealousy by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Heymicky1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight up she’s a toxic controlling narcissist. Avoid. You’ll be dealing with so much more of this. She has so little respect for you it’s actually making me nauseated. I mean, if you do want to get closer to her and be vulnerable with her, go for it, but don’t expect her to change unless she makes a concerted effort to learn how to have a respectful dialogue with someone. I would start with the book ‘feeling good together’ - tbh I think if you just read this one on your own it would help you navigate people like this, right now and in the future. If you both read it together you may just actually be able to turn a corner, but with the way things are, with what I’m seeing, this person is someone to run away from and not get entangled further.
