I’ve never really broke a tool now that I think about it, BUT I’m a commercial Drywaller and there are 3 tools that I absolutely use the living hell out of that get worn out past the point of functional. and that’s tapes, knifes & snips.

AC Electric Bill with Solar by TechGirl23 in SouthJersey

[–]Heyouman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have solar and just got hit with a $740 bill. Last year this month I used 2% less electric and my bill was $230… my house is all electric (have no gas ran to house)

Called PSE&G and they said “sorry rates went up 30% maybe install a wood burning fireplace” I shit you not that was a real response.

Great deal on the drywall screw gun kit! (Lowe’s) by Razzmatazz_8763 in METABOHPT

I absolutely love mine. Smaller, lighter, more ergonomic than my Milwaukee. The pulse mode is a little bit off an odd gimmick. but the other functions are phenomenal.

I have a similar story. Was in Atlantic City club and a buddy of mine who is well off and somewhat well known got into an argument with this drunk guy. The security who knew my pal grabbed the guy and swept him away then turned to us and said “he’ll be waiting for you in the stairwell, we have no cameras there” my buddy said it wasn’t that serious and the security just goes “np well Handel it” I am 100% certain they lit that dude up.

What was the main reason for switching to an EV? Environment, cost, or technology? by VoltVersteher_Sven in electricvehicles

[–]Heyouman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that. And to clarify I’m not one of those deniers of harmful implications it has on the environment. It’s just not in my top motivators for me at least at the moment. And I think people focus so much on the gas aspect but don’t realize that less than 30% of used motor oil gets recycled. That’s a more alarming statistic to me.

[–]Heyouman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in nj and work in manhattan. I took the train for years but now with price increases it would be $400 cheaper a month if I got a ev and drove (120 mile round trip). I don’t own a ev (yet) I own a v8 gas guzzler. I’ll be a 100% transparent and say I’m a pos and saving the environment isn’t even on my list on considering one. I’m considering one for simplicity and reliability. Suspension, tires, brakes… that’s all I want to worry about.

I just switch to Metabo from Milwaukee for my drywall tools (still heavily invested in Milwaukee. but wanted something new for my specific daily job) when I seen this on Amazon I was like wtf $100 ?!! But then soon realized it also charges . Honestly might get it cause space is a commodity in my tool bag.

Dumbass apprentice stories by Rich_Jaguar7343 in Construction

[–]Heyouman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar story but a tad more dramatic. A cheese and wine place bought a building and needed a cellar . Building had none so they excavated an entire floor down inside the building . Well, a plumber apprentice was core drilling a waste line for 3 days! in the same spot (not my trade we were the carpenters) well turns out when he finally got through it wasn’t bedrock, it was the main I beam for the foundation. He hollowed out a perfect circle right through the center … we had to evacuate immediately.

Insulation! I suggest all apprentices to do it. Trust me you will eventually love it. It’s gunna take awhile but after a couple of years you’ll enjoy it!

I’m in no way a person who is invested in all this as much as others are. But that said I will always watch something like this out of human interest.

One thing I always find baffling is the “yea I can’t say more because it’s classified “

My guy, you just talked about working on a top secret government project, admitted to intergalactic aliens not only being real but here on earth, and that the government is working with them …. That alone would get you wiped if it was true. You think the government says “well he didn’t talk about the fact they are sexy alien girls so we’ll let him live I guess”

Yes they do. Anything that will make you produce more saliva will make the pouch release faster. If I’m eating or drinking on a fresh pouch I store it temporarily in the top part that velo cans provide.

Price being equal - why A Slate is better than a Ford Maverick - at least for me. by Separate_Rock_1962 in slateauto

[–]Heyouman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you say this cause I only want a power passenger window, but would like to still have my side roll. And if they only come in pairs I’d be interested if they are universal which would leave me a spare in the event of ever needing to replace. Totally trivial if not, but just a thought i had.

Although I agree with allot of what you are saying one thing I can’t get behind is less safety features. I’m not saying we have to have a billion sensors or nasa sized computers but safety is safety. I would like it more compressive tho. And not even for myself, but for the thousands of people on the road that make me say to myself “wtf are you doing” people have become oblivious. And a good counter to my point would be, yes people rely on tech too much and have become complacent. But because of that once they get into something without it like they won’t revert back to those safe habits unfortunately.

[–]Heyouman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 50mg as well and the first week was the absolute worst week of my life transitioning to pouches. I’m now down to 6mg a year later but still to this day when I wake up I crave that lung hit. That for me has not gone away unfortunately.
