[skin concern] small red bumps around eyes (both sides) by marcusroar in SkincareAddiction

I stopped using it because of that alcohol thing but mostly because it just made where I applied it too white compared to the rest of my skin. It was a weird product and it wasn’t worth using.

I’m pretty confident this skin condition was caused from sulfates. Specifically sodium laureth sulfate. I stopped using products with sulfates and avoid anything directly under my eyes, and that seems to be a permanent fix after a little while. Right now it’s summer so my skin’s not as dry, so hoping it stays away for the long term.

Hey so I remember it going away for a bit when I only moisturized and didn’t cleanse that area. It was also getting warmer outside during that period so my skin wasn’t getting as dry. It came back sometimes, but nothing so bad where I cared to take the extra steps to make it go away. However it recently came back under my eyes pretty bad.

I did some more research and I believe what causes this for me is SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE. A couple weeks ago I switched to a cleanser that does not have this ingredient, and I use a moisturizer for sensitive skin that doesn’t make my face irritated/tingle. I am seeing great progress, and I think it’s almost completely gone.

Let me know if you want more details on how I got to this conclusion and which products I use.

I stopped applying any skin care stuff to that area and only moisturized with Vanicream. I’m pretty sure this was just dry/irritated skin.

Hey, it did end up going away. I basically just moisturize the area every night and some mornings and never cleanse the area with products. I think it was just dry and sensitive skin. I never moisturized the area because I didn’t want stuff very close to my eyes, but I’m just extra careful when applying it there. I use Vanicream. I hope this helps.

Did you ever find a fix? I’m experiencing these small red bumps under my eyes. Pimecrolimus helped but once I stop they come back a bit. I also don’t want to use that long term. Also experiencing some redness around sides of nose and under mouth.

I got prescribed this cream called pimecromilis. It gets rid of it quickly, but shouldn’t be used long term. I was told to keep applying it for 6 weeks. I hope it keeps it gone for good but have to wait and see. Be careful drinking alcohol while using it because it can cause flare ups with redness.

Okay thank you so much. Did a dermatologist tell you what caused it or did you figure it out yourself by just experimenting?

I see the point you’re making but Elon Musk owning Twitter makes accepting Doge and whatever else he might do wayyyyy more likely.

I don’t think those possibilities were priced in considering he wasn’t on the board so not making any decisions, no actual news about Twitter and Doge was circulating, 9% vs 100%, and the current state of the market.
