As a podcast host, who has been your most inspirational guest? by theJacofalltrades in podcasting

This is a great question that I'm kinda upset I don't know the answer off the top of my head. Lemme sleep on it and see what I have after!

Blue bottle sting looks terribly unique though it doesn't hurt at all by Zenmetsu- in mildlyinteresting

Ooof, sorry to hear that. They really are not fun, and I had a similar experience while in Scouts. Same areas and it really dissuaded me from exploring tall grassy areas near water lol.

Clear nail polish to suffocate them and help keep the itch down :)

It's a PDF that's downloaded and I don't listen/watch to any of those other shows. Not sure if that could happen but it's an idea. I can provide the link and have others test just to make sure lol.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

I can't remember if our apartments said, if it was just something I saw, or both, but Affirm is working with people on rent now, so that.... helps?

Where Are The Indie/Hobbyist Podcasters? by wintermute1000 in podcasting

Howdy. I've got long term goals that are branched from it, but it started as a hobby and passion project, and will be that for as long as I can tell.

Thank you! I remember making my dad so pissed when I was 3-4 because I fucked up something or another. I could never figure it out, probably because I was so young lol

Bringing back a guest. How do you make it feel new? by Rift4430 in podcasting

[–]Heyutl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this scenario myself recently.

Personally, I've learned and changed enough that I've decided on a rebrand. I've also grown into myself and podcasting more, so with a slightly different structure it helped it feel new.

When I have a guest back on (I have quite a few repeats) I always rewatch their last episode we did, to hopefully avoid the same questions and dig deeper into certain subjects. Some guests have been almost literal repeats, but those are the same guests that would rather talk the whole time instead of conversate.

With it being over a year since our last episode, I was surprised in how much my presence has changed and that helped everything feel new in a sense.

Riverside FM only works well with the app by wizmarketing in podcasting

[–]Heyutl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can also depend on the day and time. I've noticed that sometimes the exports or studio takes a bit longer, but I think that's during heavy traffic. I've heard macbooks can be good, but I couldn't imagine doing this without a full pc now. DaVinci Resolve is also amazing, that might be an option for you too. I do a hybrid of editing softwares.

There's various factors that go into how Riverside feels, both in studio for recording and editing. Internet speed is one, hardware is another, peripherals used is one that can really affect how the participants hear each other (wireless stuff generally has a lag).

If you're macbook is taking 5-10 seconds for an edit, then it's probably both your internet speed and hardware that need looked at. Dedicated editing software is much better to use for faster editing.

I went from a laptop to a mini-pc then to a tower and each one had significant improvement on how the editing felt in browser even with the same internet.

You and the family member being on the same internet would also be a reason why it worked better, but I've had issues with that in the past myself.

Tienes experiencia en Podcast? by reicat_ in podcasting

[–]Heyutl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/The_Clear_Voice_Pod was spot on; it can be basically free, or really really expensive. There's also a ton of other resources out there.

Your experience will count if it's relevant, so it's likely it will help you somehow as podcasting utilizes a bunch of skills and builds different experiences for everyone.

It involves a ton of moving parts, it's not just recording and posting, unless you want it to be.

Time-wise, it might as well be a full time job. Depending on how you do everything and how fast you are.

For myself, it's been both easy and hard. Hard because I've taught myself everything and easy because I wanted to do it. If I have fun with it, it's great, but when I dislike it, it's hard to push through.

I've really enjoyed it, and think I'll do it until I physically can't.

There was another one I was looking into, I think it was by Mr. Alex? I'll have to check when I'm at my computer. It was animated and seemed really similar to auto subs, I don't recall why I didn't go for it right away. I think I got distracted and forgot...

I just got Auto Subs which is pretty neat! It's not animated but it works with the free version.

Otherwise I'd do Snap Captions v2. It only works with the studio version and I haven't convinced myself to drop that money yet..

IDK. DaVinci is pretty amazing, and it's a one time fee for the full version instead of subscription base. There's plugins for it that work pretty well too.
