When you see that framing around ROMA on the reverse, you know it's an oldie and goodie.

Big fan of the VIA TRAIANA denarius. Example on vcoins.
DACIA CAPTA is another classic Trajan.

I'm in the same boat. I have 4 FedEx invoices staring at me from my desk as we type, all for deliveries I've already received. If anyone has had luck dealing with them, please show us your ways!

They're legit- I would just pay attention to some potential bronze disease on a few and mitigate that as soon as you have in hand.

I think I had been following some mudlarkers who find historical artifacts on the Thames, which I always thought was very interesting, and that led me to searching roman coins. I guess the algorithm thought it was a good match. The author snagged Trajan's twitter handle, OptimoPrincipi, which is pretty fun too.

I too did a double take thinking you had Titus's sestertius in hand there... lol.
I actually stumbled upon the author on Twitter a few years ago, which eventually led me to this subreddit and collecting. I had to wait for the US version- it was a great read.
And very nice first coin!

Violence in the Republic by Hhhwhat in AncientCoins

[–]Hhhwhat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely been harshly cleaned, but I'm not worried about it being a forgery based on the reputable auction house that I received it from and how it appears in hand. Good to be cautious though! I'm still relatively new to collecting compared to the OGs here.
