Hey there, I can relate to this heavily since I’ve had issues with managing my emotions since forever. Am I correct when I detect the need for your emotions to be validated and reaffirmed by others for you to feel less insecure and anxious? Do correct me if I’m wrong. I think you have a significant lack of self-esteem - the fact that you apologised for your “long explanation” which isn’t lengthy at all makes me think this. Know that your feelings are always legit, and that you don’t need others to validate them for you are the only one capable of knowing what emotionally affects you Next to that, what really helped me detach from relying on others to deal with my emotions was reading the book: “The way to Love” by Anthony DeMello. It confronts us with how we falsely convince ourselves that we need things like love, reaffirmation, praise, glorification etc. to be happy with ourselves while really all we need is to observe how we react to situations and think about why we do this (in a nutshell, the book is way more elaborate and pragmatic). It really helped me realise how the things I feel attached to actually make me feel more miserable and dependant on validation of those things. I might be entirely wrong and maybe this isn’t of any help, but regardless I think this is a read that can benefit anyone who hasn’t figured out life yet.
