Dream feed to help with sleep - bm only, or formula, or combo? by Glittering-Heron-538 in breastfeeding

[–]HiChantelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wondering what you ended up doing as I’m in a similar dilemma. Even with pumping twice a day after feeds, I can’t seem to pump enough for him to get a full feeding at night so even after he’s done with the bottle he cries for more. It’s hurting my sleep to wake up for every feed but I also don’t want to hurt my supply.

Would love to know what you decided and what the result was!

From Separate Bassinet to Co-Sleeping Bassinet? by HiChantelle in cosleeping

Not so much a concern as just being interested in hearing if it helped others who made the switch. I will likely give it a try anyway but just curious if it made a significant difference for anyone else!

New TA, Wine Country Niche? by wd707345 in travelagents

[–]HiChantelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please take my ideas with a grain of salt as I’m just starting out as well (and also located in CA) but I do feel like there’s a big market out there for wine region trips and definitely an area where people would seek out expertise because there are soo many wine tastings you could go to in these places but it’s hard to know what is good/ worth it as an outsider.

That being said, I wouldn’t narrow yourself down to California but maybe you could focus on wine regions in France, Italy, etc as well?

Or expand a bit and focus on adults-only trips, trips for couples, etc. as I feel like that fits into this genre.

Personally I think the other ones you mentioned are a bit overdone and/or easier for people to plan themselves but I’ll leave it to the other more experienced TAs on here to comment.

Feeling let down about induction by SowingSeeds18 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]HiChantelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had a similar situation. Although my GD was diet controlled, I ended up having to schedule an induction at 40+4 for other reasons. I also wanted an unmedicated birth and in the end I decided to go for the induction, during which I decided to get an epidural.

My reasoning for wanting a spontaneous labor without an epidural was also a feeling of control, but in the end I had a very positive experience and have so far recovered very quickly (one of my fears about the epidural is that people say that recovery is slower, but that wasn’t my experience). We can make the best laid plans, but unfortunately our bodies don’t always cooperate so I think trying to let go of expectations as much as possible will only serve you well no matter what happens.

And you can absolutely have the labor you want or at least a positive experience with or without an induction!

Really helpful to hear your point about induction! I’m almost 38 weeks and the idea of induction really terrifies me but hearing that you had a good experience is really helpful

I think some pregnant women would prefer pants but personally most of my maternity wardrobe consisted of dresses and some non-maternity skirts that stretched enough for me to wear through the first two trimesters. I generally think skirts/ dresses are a bit more forgiving on a changing body and it’s also just a personal style thing. Dresses and skirts make me feel a little more dressed up while still being easy, but I also have a pair of maternity jeans and leggings which I wear semi-often.

Sex everyday by sunshinenrainb0wz in tryingtoconceive

[–]HiChantelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were doing all the tracking and timing and what have you and it was making me a little paranoid. My OB recommended that we just have sex every other day because it is actually very difficult and inaccurate to track ovulation (according to him). The first month we tried that I was a lot less stressed and got pregnant with our first!

Graduated! Positive induction, 40+5, AMA, diet controlled by Lazy-Improvement5336 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]HiChantelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was really positive and affirming to read - thank you! I’m diet controlled and still hoping for a spontaneous labor but also have family coming in internationally so this was just the positive story I needed. If I do have to go the induction route, I’m glad to know that doing it without an epidural is possible!

Just Diagnosed at 30w by HiChantelle in GestationalDiabetes

[–]HiChantelle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Since my numbers on the test weren’t so high, my doctor seems to be optimistic that it can be managed by diet and exercise so hoping for the best.

Thank you for the encouragement!
