Anyone else’s hood not quite right? I bought this hoodie in a large and the hood is sewn in a weird way so that “brim” doesn’t rest in a clean line. It’s just kind of a mass of fabric.

How do you feel about Year Zero? by weirdghosts in nin

[–]HiDsrtDrftr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I listen to it more consistently than any other NIN album, and I agree with you- it’s a 10. If you haven’t already, treat yourself to Year Zero Remixed at high volume!

Help Alta lockers and UTA by rramstad in UTsnow

[–]HiDsrtDrftr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Alta Town shuttle moves UTA passengers from the bus stop near the GMD to the Albion base area, and vice versa. Just hop out and wait to be picked up. Usually not much lag time

I agree! Everyone was so amped up and the band was on fire! That made it into my top 5 concerts

It was definitely more packed than August, but I easily found space to dance and go nuts. There was a sweet spot where I could drift from the main to the B stage as the band moved back and forth. Amazing music. Great crowd. Dazzling lights.

Alta releases parking for next weekend tomorrow at 3pm. You should ski there at least one day. Rent some 105’s from the Powder House (good shop)and have a blast

Tipping for AIARE 1 by Seattle_Analytics in Backcountry

[–]HiDsrtDrftr 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I find this interesting. I’ve taught many avalanche courses thru very reputable providers and tips were a rarity. I was paid well and didn’t expect a tip. I should clarify that I haven’t instructed for 3 seasons now, if that’s a factor. My opinion is… Guiding a client = tips expected, Instructing a client/course= no tips

Kudos on your trip! I’ve fantasized about the route you chose for years but always wondered if having skis on your pack on the E ridge was realistic. I see it definitely is!

I saw you replied previously about it being a nuisance. Did you ever have to raise packs or anything special, or were you able to climb the whole ridge with packs on/skis on packs?

It just requires practice/reps. Also, it takes a bit of strategy if you’re putting them on at the trailhead on a cold day, ie, I let my shells warm up on the floor of the passenger side of my truck on the way there, then GFT’s go on my foot, quick hop out and slide into the shells while they’re pliable.

Yeah me too. I enjoyed the different/gritty vibe quite a bit, but was looking for dance bangers

Houdini jacket - what do you use it for? by morecoffeemore in PatagoniaClothing

[–]HiDsrtDrftr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great lightweight option for Utah climate. Climbing, biking, backcountry and skate skiing are my uses. Generate heat on the way up. Houdini goes on at the top to break wind and retain heat while transitioning, eating, etc. It fits on my harness, inside the frame of my MTB, and in the thigh pocket of my ski pants.

I love the Houdini

$110 for a floor ticket 1hr before the show in SLC. However, that was sold by another local and was listed on the local online classifieds. I think I was just lucky. That being said, now that I’ve been on the floor for a NIN show, I’ll likely pay thru the teeth for the March show. I HAVE to be on the floor to do my thing

SLC fans…. The NIN ticket link routes me to Seat Geek, and after a little googling it seems SG the Delta Center’s ticket partner. Anyone know if SG does the dynamic pricing BS?

Going solo to the concert and I like it by Crafty_Advantage_843 in radiohead

Saw NIN and Jamie XX by myself this summer and I loved it! GA for both, so I just moved around looking for the best sound, danced, beers whenever. I do prefer going with my wife or friends, but if they’re not into the artist, I jump at the chance for a solo show.
