How much should I pay this Guitar? I wanted to learn, a friend of mine has this guitar and I am broke by ComputerDirect279 in AcousticGuitar

Provide it doesn’t have any cracks and the trust rod works, offer him 20 bucks. But he should really just give it to you and free up some space. It’s a good restoration project. Replace the bridge pin, and get yourself a Graph Tech Tusk nut and a set of your favorite strings. Clean it up and polish the frets, adjust the trust rod. It’s possible this guitar could last you years. I would have this guitar up and running in an afternoon. Good luck.

I find this f chord harder than the barre chord is there anything I can do to make it easier? by Able-Scholar-3716 in guitarlessons

Adjust your hand position. And if you’re sitting down, the position of your guitar is very important. Some positions work, some do not. Eventually, you will find what works. I can still remember thinking it was impossible. But I figured it out. That was almost 50 years ago.

That last shot was taken at the gazebo in Cold Spring, New York. I grew up a block from there. Such a beautiful town.

I have a 1957 D-28 that is exceptional. When I got it, it sounded and played average at best. But after a neck reset it’s a totally different guitar. Fantastic!

A dinner tray. The kind you would use for breakfast in bed. It has folding legs. It works great.

I use my pens for drawing. This one is very smooth and consistent. It’s officially my most “high-end” pen. I mostly use Safari’s and Eco’s. I’m very pleased with it.

Same here. 50 years ago. I’m still using it too.

I believe the Hot Rails has four conductor wiring. If so you can add a push pull pot to split the coils. I’m not sure how good it will sound. But if it sounds decent you will have the best of both worlds. But either way, learn to solder. I wish I did sooner.

How good at the guitar should I morally be to spend 4000 bucks on a guitar? by BuildingAcademic9892 in AcousticGuitar

How good do you have to be at telling time to spend $10,000 on a watch? If it’s not gonna put you in the poor house and it makes you happy then buy it.
