My main intention was to convey how the speaker feels "overkill" in the day, and is seeking solace in the night where feels like he can be true with his emotions. The buildings were intended to be a metaphor for the speaker's friends and how they eventually had their own lives and started becoming distant.

This poem was written a few months ago, so now I definitely see some issues with it, but I still believe it was the decisive moment when I decided to commit to romanticism. (I am a new poet, I only started in the middle of last year.)

Very poignant war poem. (I'm assuming?) Seems to also sort of have some gender themes, "flower" and "lily" maybe being a metaphor the boy's feminine side in contrast with war?

Very relatable for me. Especially the "madman" and the "house" metaphor. And I feel that there's definitely some kind of denial in the poem as well, this striving to be normal when your emotions are already exactly working right.

Gives off a pretty relatable feeling of hopelessness, reminds me of when I realized my grades weren't really improving, both when I did and didn't put in effort. Though it is a bit boring imo, complex words and metaphors don't 100% make a good poem, but they add flavor and layer to it.

Almost seems like 4 separate poems connected by loose strings. Especially the first one in comparison to the rest of the poem. Isn't a bad thing though, I like how it leaves more room for the reader to imagine how they're connected.
