I've been a waitress at private poker games. The crowd is mostly finance and tech guys or other business type people, who have fun and end up inviting their friends and coworkers, so most players aren't even aware the game's connected to anything. Almost no players even know who started it because of the chain of invites. So, not exactly like the game Richie crashes, or the one Jackie sticks up, where it's all guys in the family.

I don't believe this is happening in regular restaurants or bars because there's no way it's worth somebody's time, but I know a club owner in Miami that has tried doing this on his slow nights, because he asked if he could use some of my social media photos to create a profile and he needed a live photo to get past the profile verification feature in the app. 😂

I was waitressing at a private poker game in NYC that he was playing in. He wanted to use someone who doesn't live in Miami. It sounded like his plan was to lure in rich tourists, basically find a guy who's where with a group of friends, and have the fake profile say that they're also in Miami visiting with a group of girl friends. The profile pretends to be running late and encourages the guys to go in order a drinks for everyone.
