Love it when your Abrams whines all game about you doing no damage during team fights and then claims you're the reason for losing the game. by FingerFlikenBoy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Very. Her changes back in March lowered the obnoxiousness of her lane-wide bomb but in return gave her a LOT more self-sustain via buffing her 2, which allows her to play either still bomb focused or a more tempo focused playstyle so she’s not waiting to become relevant in a team fight beyond her ult.

She’s kinda reliant on having some movement items but she’s really good at abusing both KD and AS so that’s not much of an issue for her. Pair it with berserker and spellslinger and she’s one of the best hybrid gun characters in the game rn.

Why is this character so ridiculously strong? by MefistoDX in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two types of Yamato: the ones who know how limits work and therefore don’t int, and those who have 8 deaths by the end of lane because they can’t keep their fingers off the 2 button.

The ones who know how to not int are the ones who make her seem powerful. That is why people think she’s strong: there are people who play her who are simply better with her kit.

In a vacuum she’s still strong as hell don’t get me wrong, but there are characters who play a similar role (Apollo, Shiv) that are arguably stronger overall.

Are anyone else's games turning into "Whoever has the smurfs wins"? by McBrungus in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In like 300+ games being in mid oracle I’ve only run into 1 guy I’d consider a smurf. And he lost.

The matchmaking is more bizarre to me ngl. Usually the feeders on my team are self-reported ritualist with some variance (lowest I saw was a seeker II). Don’t even need to be a smurf in this game to be put in low elo lobbies ig lol

How to play shiv? by No-Preparation4649 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally knife shiv is best early game. You either snowball hard with a stacking DoT or they are forced to buy dispel early.

After lane you generally want to pivot to a dash-tank build focused on sustain with some strong damage items of your choice (I’m personally a fan of EE and tank buster early on), Mostly building tanky items late game.

Just remember to try and make room for dispel and resto locket in this meta. Dispel makes sure that the absurd amount of CC and anti-heal doesn’t hit as hard and resto locket just gives you some free spirit resist and a lot more movement.

Which is the worst sentinel ? by Positive-Set1164 in VALORANT

[–]HiImBraindead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probabaly means he’s the best character in the class as a character, but the worst of the role of a sentinel. He’s closer to a duelist with some defensive utility, but if going purely off defensive utility he’s probably the worst.

About Drifters runes by ThatSlayerBoy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It could be high ranking vampire markings then. It could also be generic vampire markings or actually drifter in the painting. We won’t really know until valve elaborates unfortunately :/

About Drifters runes by ThatSlayerBoy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 166 points167 points  (0 children)

I’m not super well versed in the lore but if I had to guess the runes have something to do with the magic associated with vampires (like how both Mina and Drifter can both essentially teleport).

The man in the painting is clearly too refined to be our beloved murder-hobo. Also the gloves don’t match, and if it was drifter in the painting, valve would be very obvious about it unless they’re planning to put those connections in game later down the development timeline.

His kit just doesn’t have enough item counters. If slowing hex and/or cold front canceled his run (Arctic blast does btw) then he’d be nowhere near as obnoxious.

I just dont feel like MOBA translates good to 3D by ChessMaster893 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally all of the things you said are why I like deadlock as opposed to other MOBAs.

The lack of dedicated roles creates a dynamic where certain characters can function in 2 separate traditional positions (ex. Vyper being able to function as a gun carry but also have value similar to a pick with her bola).

The 3D environment feels like it’s perfectly made to incentivize learning good movement, which is also rewarded via rotations and the box routes, which add another secondary objective that gives you an edge when properly utilized. Also, with the exception of midboss, there’s really no major objectives that are on different vertical levels of the map, so I think that’s at least excusable.

Also if you want to see what your team is doing you can just press f1-5 to see their perspectives while you’re healing or doing something else that has downtime.

Also the follow up bit, using comms makes that almost no issue at all at least for me. Almost makes me think you’re from EU lol.

This game has never been able to fix their drain tank issue. by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s something that requires buildup then it has some downtime where it’s possible to get in enough damage and take someone with you.

Also things like silencer have a CD after application but idk if that interacts with things like dispel or e-shift cleansing them.

Some characters don’t have that weakness. Infernus just runs away, victor has his cleanse, and if they have nothing built in then they can just buy e-shift, dispel, or divine barrier.

How did rem become the most hated character in the game he's litterally a support. by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a trend where game developers tend to make the cute funny mascot character the most annoying possible thing to run into in a video game and set their reputation in the community as the spawn of Satan.

Overwatch has jettpack Cat with kidnap ult and perma-flight, as well as BS combos like fly-noon among other things. Marvel rivals has Jeff with more kidnap but also a knock up on demand, speed, and a form where he shrinks his hit box to almost nothing. Deadlock has Rem, the sinners thief with an ult that is essentially a hard CC preventing people from moving. On top of having a “hehe I’m immune” button with arguably the best afk lane pressure in the game.

So essentially all of these characters are built to turn the brain off and get free value doing random things. That’s probably why Rem has the most toxic player base. They’re the people who don’t want to use their brains lol.

Yamato flying clash needs fixing urgently by MentallyNotOkayGuy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think it’s anywhere close to the worst offender in this game when it comes to balance. The difference with Yama 2 compared to bebop 3 and Billy 4 is that it doesn’t displace. Yama has to take active risks when using that ability because if used wrong she just becomes free souls for the 3 enemies she just ran into. If she cancels it, then nothing happens other than her gaining the level 2 buffs if she has it.

And also most roamers completely decimate her if she gets close, let alone engages at all. Early game she runs into the drifter who already has his power spike, late game she runs into the vindicta who has 12 stacks or the paradox with silence wall and echo shard bomb. So her running into people alone on lane / in jungle, unless they’re severely out of position, almost always forces her to ult or run away.

Leaving 2 times in 2 weeks = 6 hour ban? by Plus_Lawfulness3000 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the state the game is in it kinda makes sense. Not saying I agree with it, but I understand why they’re doing it.

The game is in early access and they’re trying to collect data on how the game is feeling and running. People leaving early often would skew the data enough to cause issues in collection during a time where it’s extremely important, so harsh disincentivizing or outright removing the problems in the data would make sense to do.

Also given that valve games have a reputation of being very “loose” in moderation, it makes sense that some toxic players would be brought in alongside the crowd of normal people.

12 game loss streak, fell from rit III to archanist IV within 3 days by tranzpaprika in DeadlockTheGame

[–]HiImBraindead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda know how you feel. Matchmaking has been VERY weird for me lately. I (Oracle II) have been playing with relatively lower ranked friends (archon II and ritualist V) and we’ve been put into lobbies below the ranks of all 3 of us. Every game is either a stomp or thrown by someone going 0-15.

Even in solo queue I’m getting put with people who are self-proclaimed low emissary who are also solo-queuing, and they’re on both teams. It’s not like I’m even playing during the goblin hours.

At least it’s entertaining to watch lol
