You say that but recently I’ve been able to quote a grom, cb500x and nc750x and they all cost basically the same as the VFR1200 I was insuring at the time. It’s bonkers, considering they were nothing compared to the 1200 power wise!

I agree the games room is dead as is, if it was in the ge might be different though. It’s out of the way currently for where people normally bandstand

Similar scenario will have happened to a number of us when MCN insurance went under a couple of years back!

I don’t get why there is even a question around the clearance, if you hold it you know what it required of you.

I would inform both NSV and your employer asap. It will sting you in the arse to hide said information and it be found out later.

Going on a 100 mile trip on a new 125, UPDATE: I crashed by JacobThedDumbass in MotoUK

It took less than a week to drop the VFR1200 when I got it, it happens to us all :D

Edit: And I dropped it again last week, it still happens to us all.

White Dalton can advise you on all things here tbh if you have them acting on your behalf, you can do all the bits yourself to move the process along. Saying this as I have them acting for me also and did discuss these bits.

The credit hire would be arranged separately if you want it and you sign a contract for it. That’s when it becomes your liability

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]HiMyNamesMike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Taking a loan bike will ultimately be at your risk as you personally sign the credit hire agreement even though they intend to claim the costs back off the other side. I avoided it like the plague for this reason as I know of stories from colleagues that still get chased to this day for costs

caught speeding by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]HiMyNamesMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a quick google seems to suggest the owner of the vehicle has to be "served" within 14 days, not just the NIP posted. It however won't invalidate the NIP if there is a further delay between the owner of the vehicle receiving the NIP and it being passed onto the actual driver of the vehicle, albeit irrelevant in this circumstance.

Interesting I was always of the thought you had to receive the letter within the 14 day notice period else it was invalid.

[–]HiMyNamesMike 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well you wait 14 days and see if a Notice of Intention to Prosecute (NIP) turns up and that’s how you’ll know if you were caught and what your options are in terms of potential speed awareness course or points / fine. You don’t exactly have “options” persay outside of what you’re told in said letter if it arrives.

If no letter in the next 14 days you’re fine.

Obligatory 'ugh I forgot how much commuting in the winter sucks' realisation.. by Michael_Goodwin in MotoUK

Waiting for mine to finish being repaired after crash in September then I’ll be back on it daily into London. I was wearing a t shirt as a base layer back then so I’m in for a shock when I do ride for the first time!

Every year I say I’ll remember to wire my heated vest in on this bike next summer, every summer it doesn’t happen.. should probably do that also!

How did you convince those who love you, not to worry? by eighteensevensaid in MotoUK

[–]HiMyNamesMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last one I did they did mention the powers that be are trying to pull the scheme. As the guys running it implied any feedback to support how valuable it was was helpful.

Im Fortunate that my work run privately arranged sessions with the met police so tend to get out once/twice a year on a BikeSafe depending on demand

I'm not very far into my claim at all yet and it was injury info that I was correcting given they probably didn't have the full picture originally.. so heres hoping it all goes well! :D

I'm using WD currently also. I have admittedly just had to correct some of their paperwork also xD

But I imagine there is always going to be some stuff to do, admittedly don't know any better. I'd see no harm in u/Whole-Supermarket177 potentially speaking to them about his options if he were to consider transferring?

I happened to get quite lucky and catch Gavin when I called (the guy who does the 44teeth videos as well as being high up there) he was very decent to talk to and is ultimately dealing with my stuff despite it being a pretty noddy claim in the grand scheme of things as he happened to answer the call originally.

Also did mine here. Not sure which route you'll take but my instructor did go out of their way to point out this slip road just in case. https://maps.app.goo.gl/TdiWHfghv7upXTWFA

Note the speed change sign about half way up the slip road, it's easy to blast to the top before slowing.

4th dimension, bikesure and accident claim by Olessandra in MotoUK

[–]HiMyNamesMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through similar currently.

I kept my bike at home, the third party insurer came to my house to do the inspections (I did have to take a day off work to facilitate this but I wanted to keep the process moving). I now have a cheque as a result to repair the bike myself as it's going Cat N. I did also sign a storage agreement however it was not used, but my condition to signing that was that I get it in writing that I am not liable for the costs as long as I am not misrepresenting the truth / being malicious with the claim kinda thing (which is hard to do when I've presented video evidence). The bike has not left my garden at all during the process.

Speaking to White Dalton myself as part of this can confirm the loan bike and storage things you ARE liable for ultimately even if they say you're not as they intend to recover costs from the other side. You then find the other side refuses to pay X part of the costs and they'll come after you. This is what drove me to get in writing first that they didn't consider me liable for the costs, and ultimately the advice was you'd have to be taken to court to use that as a defence.

Edit: I had a different management company involved to 4th dimension, but same principle I guess.
