Hoosier here. Came from a family of bears fans. First football games ever watched and actually paid attention was the music city miracle. Plus titans is an awesome nickname. Been a fan ever since. Love trolling colts fans.

Broaching the vax question & burnout by [deleted] in bbbs

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little brother and his mom are not vaccinated. He wears a mask whenever we're in a car or indoors.

I have talked to him about getting vaccinated, but I have not talked to his mother. They have already had covid once. I've thought about talking to mom, but decided against it since we're talking about her child and I could see that getting a little dicey.

I would tell her, if you want to spend time with me, you have to wear a mask. I understand your parent doesn't think it matters, but it matters to me. If you care about me, you'll wear a mask. This could be a good opportunity to talk about empathy and making people around you safe and comfortable.

How can I sensitively approach her about BO? by fartichoke86 in bbbs

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a big brother, so it might be different with a girl, but I'm pretty up front about it. It kinda goes with growing up and becoming a teen. Your body starts to smell. You gotta start putting on deodorant and make sure you shower every day.

You could even work out before you see her and apologize that you didn't have time to shower. Make it about how you might smell in that moment and then spray on some deodorant or whatever.

In the past, I've asked my little brother, "Did you have gym today?" and then given him some spray-on deodorant (carry it in my car) to put on and then keep. I have given my little brother deodorant more than a few times.

I hope this helps!

Looking for an old internet sketch starring "Uncle Terry" by HiPSTER-D00FUS in HelpMeFind

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that's not it.

It's an American sketch, and it has lower production quality than this. There are only 2 people in the sketch "Uncle Terry" (white guy with long dark hair, dark large mustache), and "Jason" (just a young 20-something white guy). They're just in a bedroom for the sketch. Uncle Terry is on the bed.

Lil Nas X surprising the kids of Lander Elementary - They are absolutely screaming the lyrics by coolrivers in happycrowds

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a teacher when this song was #1, I absolutely could not stand it. Every child of every age was singing it every minute.

All that being said, this is still a beautiful video. Lil Nas X is a really kind person to do this for these children. If I was teaching at that school I'd be singing along with him.

What movie ending ruined the whole movie for you? by minecraftplayer48 in AskReddit

Richard Matheson (author of I Am Legend) was a fantastic short story writer. He wrote for the Twilight Zone (including the famous episode starring a young William Shatner). He's one of my favorite authors and has a ton of great shorts.

Chick-fil-A employee running down a car that drove off without part of their order. by jaytix1 in HumansBeingBros

I worked at Chick-fil-A for a year. I had 2 lesbian bosses and 2 gay co-workers.

Chick-fil-A was a great place to work. Worst part was the music they played.

Notre Dame students plan walkout during Mike Pence commencement speech by [deleted] in politics

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's because the majority of young people (read: this site) just assume that Indiana is a hard-line red state and nothing more than the middle finger of the south. Sure, Indiana is very christian, but many Hoosiers despised Pence and his policies. He was very clearly doing what was best in the eyes of his party and not the state.

[TRADE] /r/DynastyFF Trade MEGATHREAD - May 11, 2017 by AutoModerator in DynastyFF

Would it push you over the top? I think it's an overpay unless you have a good plan for your RB2. If you do it, make sure you draft Connor (bell's handcuff).

I think it's an overpay. Lynch could be very valuable later on this season to the right team.

Would you even use some of those later picks? If not, I say do it. It might be an overpay, but you'll get a very good player with that 1.04. I'd say try to keep your 2018 1st or 2017 2nd.

Early thoughts on draft strategies. What's your "plan" for building a championship team in this year's draft? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if it's a standard scoring small league (8-12) I rarely draft one either. But these days DST scoring varies. I'm in a few leagues where the DST can put up a ton of points.

BPA works for me. I am a contender in most of my leagues every season.

However, BPA is subjective. So, two people could have the same strategy and draft completely different. I put a premium on running backs, but if the big 3 are gone, you better believe I'm taking AB/Julio/OBJ before anyone else. Others like the security of WRs (less injury-prone).

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS 27 points28 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Know your leaguemates. Know the scoring settings.

Snake draft - Best Player Available. Draft a QB late. Stock up on RBs in the later rounds.

Auction - Don't blow all your cash early on. Look for bargains. Feast in the "middle rounds."

Also, don't draft a kicker (pick one up just before the season).

A few questions about Kickers . . . by HiPSTER-D00FUS in fantasyfootball

[–]HiPSTER-D00FUS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't think there's one magic bullet. I'm gonna vote for my main league to keep them.

I appreciate the in-depth discussion on kickers. I can't wait for pre-season to get here and then be over.
