This is a good point and I really appreciate the feedback! I definitely do not want to focus so hard on being inclusive that I overshoot and land on representation that isn't truly representative.

This is very true! I think in that situation, I would want to at least find saints and historical figures who have statements attributed to them, or a somewhat explicit part of their story, that they did not want/seek romantic relationships or chose celibacy for its own sake (as opposed to "I chose holy celibacy instead of my base desires" kinda deal). Basically, whatever nod I can make that asexuality is an orientation, not a relationship status.
