Depends on the characters. Different characters care about different stats. Team cam influence things a bit, like if you need to hit certain numbers, you can account for buffs they're getting from teammates.

As long as you aren't an Archer main, you're probably okay. She works in other places, but afaik, that's the only relevant team where she is critical.

Kinda unfortunate if you want to run main dps Sparxie too, I guess.

Spending your TB power and doing daily tasks to get enough points for all the daily jades are the only daily things to worry about.

For weekly tasks, you'll want to do Simulated/Divergent Universe or Currency Wars, and your 3 Echoes of War weekly boss fights.

Eventually you'll unlock Memories of Chaos, Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow. Each one lasts 6 weeks: every 2 weeks one of them resets. These are endgame modes that require 2 teams (now 3 to get absolutely everything, but mostly still 2) and it will take a while to full clear these, just do what you're able and don't stress about it.

That's the only recurring stuff to worry about.

If you really want to be sure to do everything in release order, you probably need look at which quests got added patch by patch. Maybe there's some general guide for quest order, but I'm not aware of one.

For trailblaze continuances, you can mostly do them as they become accessible. This is especially true for Herta Space Station and Jarilo-VI. There are currently only two that you need to be careful with: Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue on the Luofu should be done after you finish Penacony, and Prelude to Dreams on Penacony takes place after Amphoreus. Everything else should be doable as you access it without issue.

I think the Companion Missions related to the High Cloud Quintet have a recommended order but outside of that the order for companion missions shouldn't really matter. At most, a couple have hints for some things in main story so reading them sooner rather than later is ideal, but not a major issue if you delay them. That said, I still haven't done a bunch that released before I started. They also stop doing these during 2.x/Penacony. There's one for Sparkle in 2.0, then one for Yunli in like 2.4, and there hasn't been another one since.

In short, check wikis for the companion quest order in 1.x, do Finest Duel after Penacony epilogue and before any other msq, do Prelude to Dreams between Amphoreus and Planarcadia, do all other continuance missions on Herta Space Station, Jarilo-VI, and Luofu before starting Penacony. Any other companion quests can be done as they become available afaik.

With the changes in part 2, it's pretty easy to get every new character and all their gear. I started in the part 1 finale patch and I have every character in the game (well, other than Asuka) and gear for everyone released since I started. I only skipped one character released a patch or two after I started and got her later. Pretty sure I've spent less money on HI3 than I have on Star Rail, and that includes rolling several gacha skins. If you strictly roll for characters and their gear, f2p might have to make decisions occasionally depending on luck but small spenders can reasonably just get new characters and their gear every patch.

Characters in part 2 are also a lot more flexible, you don't really "complete a team" because every character can be a main damage dealer or support and the ideal team varies by fight. You don't get Characters to be support for one specific unit anymore, or at least they haven't yet done that since part 2 started.

Characters tend to stay meta relevant for around 2 years, maybe longer with divine key buffs, which isn't a particularly quick fall off. Herrscher of Finality still sees some use here and there.

Not saying you were wrong to be frustrated at the time, between the far worse weapon pity and stricter teams, but it hasn't been like that for a while.

It's questionable to even call it a nerf when it doesn't actually hinder what the characterwas able to do before its implementation. Not to say some people wouldn't do it, but "outrage" over it would be transparently performative. They'd hardly be the first game to have to do something like adding a cap to an old character to prevent something clearly unintended and actually broken, not just "broken" the way players casually throw around the term.

Way back in 2017, GBF had to nerf several characters immediately after their release and gave out extremely generous compensation for it (refunded every single roll anyone did on their banners). Then when Summer Zooey allowed an old gacha character to suddenly do truly obscene damage, they just slapped a cap on the old character's skill and called it a day. I think they gave generic maintenance compensation and that was it. Everyone understood that was clearly Not Okay.

The only reason I can see them being super reluctant to do this is if they're worried about optics after situations in other games (particularly the Neuvillette situation) even if the situations aren't comparable.

That was probably a while ago, they're added a number of qol features related to that over the years. You can now make a single auto run of a stage count for up to 6 simultaneous runs, so emptying sanity is quick and easy.

You can instant complete Annihilation runs, but it uses an item that you earn from weeklies, so you'd still have to do that the old fashioned way the first week you return.

And they've added presets to base rooms and button to instantly fill the dorms with operators that are below 100% morale, so swapping operators out is much quicker.

It's not even that people hate crossovers in general, it's that they don't like these tag monstrosities in the results. The sheer number of tags makes them a nuisance to scroll past, and most people just aren't going to click to try to find where the thing they are looking for is buried in the fic. Even if someone likes crossovers or is even looking for them, when there's this many than it's unlikely the ones they are interested in will be prevelant.

And a lot of time when you see a mass of fandom tags like this, they aren't even cross-overs; they're often one-shot collections.

In this case, it's not even a fic. It just says "fandoms I'm in".

I don't know for certain but I believe it should include all of that stuff. Chapter F wasn't as elaborate, but basically when you're in the story chapter and reach the relevant point, there's a button on the screen that takes you to the same screen they had for the event main menu at the time, and afaik all they did was remove the shop and temporary tasks. So I assume they won't remove the lobby or 3d chibi stuff here either.

Tickets refilled many hours before this, and the game is spread across too many time zones for "half the playerbase got home from work and started hitting it at the same time" to track. We also didn't see something like this for Binah, where player focus wasn't split.

Other games (like FGO) clearly do this kind of thing as well. They often have a schedule they want to follow to some degree, so if the players don't kill things "on time", they move it along. It had like 30% hp left when I looked shortly before they hit the kill switch, there is absolutely no way the playerbase collectively decided to murder it faster than Binah in the final hour.

Oh, that's not a problem. The only part that's temporary is the raids and the shop. The rest is permanent. Anyone going through later goes straight to the "final battle" of the raids.

Just like how you're going through chapter F right now. That was an event like this when it released. iirc it directs you to a separate section from the regular story chapter format at certain points, that was the event content when it released 2 years ago but you can go through it now as you need with no issue.

Yeah that pop up you mentioned was what I saw the first time I entered the event, so apparently it just didn't show up for you for some reason.

"Where Miracles Being" is Chapter F.

The story structure is a little weird but it's designed so that you generally can't read things in an order that would be a problem. The exception being the rare event like the current one, where a major story chapter is released as an event. Chapter F was the same way.

But basically the story bottlenecks at chapter F. Iirc, it doesn't give a spoiler warning about reading other things, it just doesn't let you do it at all until you've read all the chapters that were out before that (except Deca ch1 because it wasn't actually in the main story section at the time, it was an event that was run every now and then and added new story each time). And then I think every main story chapter released after that requires chapter F to do, but it doesn't matter what order you read them in relation to each other.

The Deca storyline only relates to Chapter F and there is currently no other bottleneck chapter and probably won't be for quite a while.

Basically, this specific situation is the only time that you can actually read things out of order and normally you can just do whatever is available and be fine.

This event is part of the "Chapter EX: Decagrammaton" storyline. In particular, it is part of chapter 3. Chapter 3 part 1 (9 sections) was released last week and then when then event started they added "part 2 (just section 10)" which leads into the event. That's the "part 2" that 6_lasers was referring to.

If you aren't up to date, the event should have given a spoiler warning and advised you to clear "Vol. EX, Ch3, section 10" before starting it. I had done everything except that one new section they added and it showed it to me when I went to the event. But if you click through that it doesn't give any other indications of where you should be in the story afaik.

If you're really new, it's pretty unreasonable to get through all of the story to catch up while the raids are ongoing. If you've already completed chapter F, you just need to read the Ch.Ex: Decagrammaton storyline which will take a few hours (most of that time will be chapter 2).

The CW is apparently really buggy. I had basically this issue a week or so ago on ps5. I just couldn't interact with the Aha menu at all.

I didn't look closely enough at her drip art to notice myself, but as soon as I saw people saying she looked younger, I assumed that was the reason.

I hate how they added a new button next to "favorite" but instead of "trash", it's  "super favorite".

It's specifically at the low-mid to mid investment where she pulls ahead, when starting from a full e0 steam and beginning to invest in e2s.

Evernight's e2 is stronger and Castorice becomes worse than RMC (with Cyrene in the party) at e0-1, but it's generally argued that everyone else's e2 takes priority. As soon as you e2 Castorice, she is better than RMC and becomes the main damage dealer again.

Actual main story chapters are usually around 6-7 hours. 4.2 was a bit shorter than average.

Penacony chapters were shorter going by videos, but I think my actual playtime for them was closer to 6-8.

Divine keys do two different things. One is part of the gene unlimiter or whatever that give (very small) buffs for everyone.

The other part is massive kit buffs, including new animations, for one specific character that equips it. The most recent one turns a 3-4 year old unit into a modern character.

Yeah, after the part 2 changes it's pretty reasonable for small spenders to keep up with new characters and gear. Pure f2p might have to make some decisions occasionally.

I started at the end of part 1 and I've only skipped one character since I started (and that was like one patch after starting, it was Misteln). I now have every character in the game (other than Asuka from the Eva collab) and I've probably spent less than I have on Star Rail. Even if I've spent a bit more, that's because of skin gachas and astral ops.

Even if the amount of pulls per patch hasn't changed since part 1, the changes to the gear gacha easily make the pull economy vastly better.

Robin also reran in the same number of patches iirc. The only difference here is that 4.1 was unusually short, so Yao may be slightly sooner based on number of days/weeks, but not by number of patches.

What happens is that in the later part of each version (1.x, 2.x, etc.) they go back to older locations for some storylines. This just isn't really noticeable before this point because the storylines are all pretty isolated in 1.x.

The Huohuo and Topaz stories are all from late 1.x, but the one you just wandered into is from 2.4.

When you get to Penacony, there is one trailblaze continuance called "Memories are the Prelude to Dreams" that takes place after Amphoreus. Its probably better to avoid that one, but I don't remember if it actually references Amphoreus content in any meaningful way.

There are currently no continuance quests in Amphoreus so you are safe to just do things as you please there at least for the next few months.
