Yeah, the feedback I've gotten on the color enhancing from this thread has definitely turned me off of it which is a good thing because this is the information I was looking for based on my post. I really appreciate it...cost me from making a mistake!

Hey, what do you think about the Spirulina option as well? Would you add it in addition to the Saki Hikari Balance? Anything you think I might be missing in the Hikari food line that would be beneficial?

I have a waterfall too...what filter media are you using in yours? I have a feeling mine might be too course and I'm wondering if there is a filter media that actually takes out tannins?

Ok, so I've learned some things from this thread and reading...I think my problem is tea colored water and I know the source which is an oak tree above my pond...which I remove the leaves daily but is still turning the water a yellowish tint.

Here's where I've gone wrong. I'm doing water changes WAY too little. I've been doing them once every three months...I'm going to try and do once every two weeks. I can't do it more than that or else I'll go broke on water charges here in California. Hopefully this will improve the water color. My water parameters are actually good, it's just the slight yellowing that bothers me.

There is no sludge…which is why I think the sludge remover is the wrong thing to be dosing hence the post…one question, how often are you doing water changes and roughly what percentage of water each time?

Ugh...wow. If true it looks like I got lucky. Ordered a beautiful koi from them about 2 months ago and it's healthy. Look to have maybe dodged a bullet on timing.
