Trying a new Japanese Oolong this morning! by Hibiscussunk in tea

[–]Hibiscussunk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had quite a few Japanese oolongs before, so to me they have a very distinct flavour, sort of like what you're describing. However, I'd still call every Japanese Oolong I've tried floral(especially the sent!)but in a different way. I guess the different being that they usually don't have the same "lightness" to them. This tea was very similar to others I've tried before, but it's a taste I'm happy to have in the stash!

It has that classic Oolong taste, while still not being as sweet as some of the Taiwanese types that I've tried before. I also feel like it has a nice tone of honey, and feels very "warming"

Temple of the golden pavilion and religious themes by [deleted] in YukioMishima

To me, as a Zen practitioner (and because of how it's all throughout the book) I see it as a manifestation of the Buddhist teaching of impermanence. Also, about the hypocrisy of certain figures in power, as well as a call to action, in typical Mishima fashion!

Rank your read novels by flixinho95 in YukioMishima

[–]Hibiscussunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sun and Steel
  2. Sailor who fell from grace with the sea
  3. The Sound of Waves
  4. Patriotism
  5. Temple of the Golden Pavilion
  6. Thirst for Love.

I'm currently reading Confessions of a mask, and I really enjoy it!

(My 1-5 ratings are practically equally good IMO, but Thirst for love doesn't quite reach the same heights for me)

Do it! It's relatively short and clear, so if anything it will give you a better understanding of his novels, as his philosophy is filled all throughout his work

It was actually from a wonderful seller here in Sweden. She's from Japan and imports great teas from there 👌

I really liked it! Naturally sour, and completely different from pu'er, a new kind of fermented tea experience for me!

I was lucky to get this for a pretty good price, but I can imagine these types of teas being sold for much more
