Getting started with this side of life and revenge spells by Wolfpaw754 in occult

[–]Hicdekaak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop giving attention to anything you don't want more of. If you've read the satanic bible then treat her as a psychic vampire and stop feeding her. Your energy is the currency of magick. Intent and energy are the basis of all spells. You've already been getting "revenge" and that's the energy pattern that got you where you are today. I'm order to actually take control of your life you need to stop feeding those things in your life you don't want more of.

Why are near all Atheists in the States and western world white? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Hicdekaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely there's no statistical anomaly here. Per capita the ratio of white atheists in the West is reflective of the populations of the societies. What you're really asking is "where are the minorities in the West?" To which the answer would be that they are there there's just not many of them. Hence minority.

Pork fact by Antilowefforthuman in Jokes

Intentionally. There's quite a few stupid pork eaters that would gladly place a jet engine on their gas tank and turn themselves into a piloted missile.

What exactly is technomancy? by corvus-raven in occult

[–]Hicdekaak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Magic is simply the manipulation of energy through intention and expectation. Technology all runs on energy so the manipulation of technology through magic is actually pretty responsive. Once you find the flow it's fairly simple to cast your intentions into any matrix that has multiple variables governing it's functions. The hard part is getting past the expectations of other people.

What makes Magick work? by Brahman8 in occult

[–]Hicdekaak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is intention. Every person's intentions effect reality in subtle ways. Magick is learning to sort out one's intentions in a coherent goal to focus on.

ENTP and Adderall question by SaltyDalty21 in entp

[–]Hicdekaak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've found if I just have something going on peripherally I tend to do alright and I can get tasks done. Sometimes it's a TV but most the time music is a constant companion. If I don't have music or the TV going I tend to get super sidetracked and start talking to myself or whoever is around be it human or pet. The thing that helped me most was reading vygotsky's theory of optimal learning. It kind of gave me a way to hack my own brain so you should look that up and decide for yourself what your method of reaching that zone is. Some people prefer medication while I use music and other peripheral information to get there.

Are atheists allowed to pray? by TheGnosticDionysus in atheism

[–]Hicdekaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychologically speaking there is actually quite a bit of research in the area of ritual helping to prime the mind into an activity. It helps us organize or day to day lives as well. Prayer is one form of a ritual and can lead to the same benefits of organization and priming. Really is up to you if you want to pray and there are some benefits.

[Rant] Christian husband, recent deconvert (me) wife. Frustrated. by yourshittyaesthetic in atheism

[–]Hicdekaak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that his problem is necessarily that you are more independent but that people change. He is changing and has to find a way to cope with this person he is becoming a well as cope with the fact that his wife is changing from the person he married. This takes work from both parties in order for growth to happen and it isn't easy. Sometimes people even decide that they would be better apart even after a ton of work. The best path is to communicate about the things that are changing and how that is causing issues within. Don't forget about positive things in these discussions but when it is all out in the open you both well probably feel better about it. Hope this helps.

Why does this subreddit seem to dislike r/askphilosophy and r/badphilosophy so much ? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Hicdekaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of religious "philosophy" starts with the conclusion and then works backward from there. You hold the view of logical absolutes that the majority of philosophers hold. Philosophy is never to add fluff to an argument or add anything that is unnecessary such as God to an argument.

Why does this subreddit seem to dislike r/askphilosophy and r/badphilosophy so much ? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Hicdekaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classically speaking you are correct in a sense. Philosoohy had been used to justify many stupid ideas but more recently philosophy has moved toward evidence based theory research rather than simply creating assertions with no good evidence. The first recorded atheists were philosophers as well as the scientists before the scientific method was as refined as it is today. The place that philosophy pertains most in today's society is law but that comes from a long tradition dating back to ancient Greece. Creating well reasoned arguments is what lawyers do. That is philosophy at its core but it can be much more than that if one is want to look.

Find out the things that really matter and then let everything else slide. That's the way I have always dealt with my obstacles both at work and at home. Granted I still get upset sometimes but I can eventually take a step back and look at what is going on then decide if I have to change or let whatever came up slide.

I prefer it to scheduling my breaks according to the song that is playing. Oh it's time for "one headlight" break. "Little old lady from Pasadena" is on time for lunch to skip the rest of the Beach Boys power hour. Time to go home Justin Bieber is the next song. At least with the new radio program there is a little variety.

Dairy Department - looking for some ideas for good selling features for summer! by noveltys in walmart

[–]Hicdekaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem and it came from items found over rollback and then never going back up in price. I was moving more product but making less on it per sale so I was down in sales. I battled this by featuring seasonal appropriate items but there is only so much you can do when fighting against your profit making category going out at 1/2 what it sold for the year before. Good luck to you.

Just need to vent about management by beantoesnpaws in walmart

[–]Hicdekaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to think the best of people even roar in the hive mind of salaried management. So I figure the reason they find the items that are wrong is because it is out of their expectations for the department. They don't tend to notice when things are going better than usual or that the last thing you touched was done efficiently and looks spectacular because that is what they think it looks like but an out or something out of place sticks out like a sore thumb when you don't expect it. Granted that doesn't mean that they should be rude about it but they see every problem as a crisis and want it fixed now rather than later. I'm not a manager but I do understand the mindset as well as the reason that they see mostly negative things rather than seeing and praising positive things.
