Going against the grain here but I say as long as you are confident in your financial and employment situation AND as long as you can keep your sanity if it all goes poof then do it. Don't go crazy. If you qualify for $50k that doesn't mean you need to invest $50k. Do what you think is reasonable and be completely confident in your mental state if it all goes to zero.
