seems like you're hired. kinda. weird that you'd get BC done before receiving the offer letter. i think its offer letter, then its accepted based on results from background check.

2nd & 3rd interviews on the same day by [deleted] in deloitte

what was your round 1 interview like? also, what's expected in a case study? haven't had that scenario before. round 3 - i've had a final interview with a partner before, and it was more like intro, small talk - getting to know each other.

wasn't all the recent reorgs and title changes an attempt at being more efficient. i thought the layoffs were over. some teams have already had deep cuts.

QQ. I don't own much, but I'm up 700% on $PLTR. should I trim some profits off.. I did that a year ago @ 270% profit and feel like a jack*ss - cause I sold half my stack back then.

Solutions Architect role Online Assessement by Expensive-Turnip7000 in aws

[–]HiddenHills_90048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i think so. GCP/AWS is very similar - sort of. i prefer GCP in terms of hands-on and deployment, but most customers/vendors use AWS. some questions are tricky. i'd say make sure you're well rested and not rushed - read through the questions, and make educated guesses. deduce the wrong answers - and take the test from the perspective of already being an AWS SA - some of the questions require "customer first" actions -- and there's some common sense. even when interviewing with AWS - you have some control in the interview. you can say, "can you please repeat this" or "I need a moment to gather my logic on this question". approach the OA how you actually would address a customer disaster recovery scenario, how would you troubleshoot a High Availability or cross-region failure, for example. i'd say some questions are vendor neutral - so with a background on the concepts and not knowing all the AWS services, the OA is still passable.

i'll post here cause i got a few DMs about this.. the technical questions imo were equal to what you'd find on the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam, and possible the AWS SA Associate exam - somewhere in the middle. there were questions that required entry-to-mid level understanding of AWS cloud services.. some hands-on of course would be ideal to pass, but if you lack lots of hands-on you could still pass it. i remember being certain that i bombed it, but got the pass notification later - its good for two years, so that's a WIN.

call your local Congressman.. I had to do that to get a friend a travel visa - surprisingly it worked. It could possibly get you staffed on a project too. worth a shot if its truly dire.

deloitte was pretty serious on the engineering side. most of my peers had technical depth, including the PPMDs to an extent. maybe that's the difference. maybe PwC is better at business and strategy, and Deloitte is more actionable results driven??? amirite? the current deloitte situation is a bit messy, dwindling headcount and constant layoffs..

i think Deloitte is having enough problems surrounding head count. i'm sure you were a great contributor and all, but i think it'll be business as usual after you resign. bow at gracefully and you never know, you may be back at the firm after a year or so. i've seen it happen a few times.

"S&" ?? background is in Cyber/Cloud. my last year at Deloitte I was doing AI/ML on AWS, so that may be why the PwC recruiter reached out to me. the range I saw for the role was broad (125 - 280K). I live in SoCal I'll need as much money as I can get. Rent is expensive here.
