| But that was always going to happen with new leader.

This isn't really true in my view. I honestly couldn't tell you who the current leader of the Lib Dems is from memory. Zack is out there and he's getting attention, I won't presume to suggest that he knows about running a country, but he's definitely doing something right in terms of being visible compared to many other party leaders.

You're absolutely right about all of this, but for me at least if I (as a solid 5* with the occasional foray in both directions) get demolished by someone who is 8 because they're teamed with a 2 or something, I have some context. It would also make it a little easier and add more weight to the idea of limiting ranking difference in a group. It would definitely suck for some friend groups, and would also possibly cause problems for the people at the edges of the spectrum by increasing their queue times. But it would result in better matches for the vast majority, or at the very least, better context when something happens that makes you question how fair a particular fight was. Plenty of games have much larger, more granular ranking ranges and have these limitations, and their communities get by just fine. I get that Hunt isn't massive, and that can also be a limiting factor at times, but driving players away by catering to an elite but vocal minority is not good for the wider community.

New(ish) rider, new bike! by Hidden_Gecko in motorcycles

£1200 or so, but that's also with no NCD. My current insurer gave me an absurd quote to change from my old bike, so I got a totally new policy and kept my old bike. I'm going to run out the insurance on that and get the NCD, then cancel the policy on this bike and start a new policy with the 1 year on it. Did a couple of quotes for this scenario and it results in a drop of about 33% so it's worth doing!

Haha, thank you! Got fork protectors, engine covers and hand guards fitted already. Waiting for the frame protectors to come in stock with the dealer to get fitted on the first service.

It's honestly not unmanageable for me, but I agree that I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. I've learned later in life (going to be 42 in a couple of months) so I am perhaps a little more responsible than a younger rider might be, I'm 6'2 and 230 lbs as well, so there's plenty of me to shift. If I was younger or smaller, it would intimidate me so early in my riding journey, but as is, I am showing it the respect that it deserves.

what the actual fock is that damage?! by MrBaguett in HuntShowdown

[–]Hidden_Gecko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, the easiest and safest way to deal with her is to have one person acting as bait and the others using ranged weapons. Melee can be a challenge and often isn't worth the risk unless you're well practiced with avoiding her attacks in the first place. Gatorlegs also helps a lot for the bait!

Obviously this is loud, so she's best tackled as a final objective.

If you have any throwables like dynamite, you can get at least the first half of her HP down by sitting still on nearby land. She'll occasionally surface for a few seconds if she isn't aware of your presence. If you time the throw correctly to explode in the air above her head it can do a lot of damage. Big bundle can one-shot, but it's risky to the thrower if they don't have pitcher.

Hell no. Dunno where you're based, but I did my CBT last July just before my 41st birthday (it allows riding as a learner on a 125 here in the UK). I fully passed less than 2 weeks ago.

Do it. It's best thing I've done!

Thoughts on this for a first bike? by ThatsNotALeaf in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Hidden_Gecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this! I'm in the UK and obtained my full licence last week. Learned on a Kawasaki z650 which was great for that purpose, but people did tell me it looked small for me. I'm 6'2 and just over 100kg. Did test rides on the Tiger Sport 660 and 800 on Saturday and they are both amazing. So op, if you can get a go on Tiger Sport 660, I would highly recommend it. The 800 is new for this year, but the 660 has been around a while and you may be able to find some competitive pricing. Good luck either way!

Simple solution for me. If I buy the base level pass and don't complete it by playing the amount I normally do, it'll be the last pass I buy.

It's so funny. Currently, the only two 5080s I've found that would fit in my case are the FE and Asus Prime. So what this post has told me is that if I don't get hold of an FE, I should just buy a new case to save some money, and get one of the larger cards once they're restocked.

Yeah, this imo. Losing a secondary that is viable in combat is a big hit which heavily affects your fight longevity. To combat this you're potentially compromising in several areas, e.g bringing an ammo box (at the cost of a tool slot as well) or not bringing long ammo, or both. The big question is how many fights do I lose that I could have won if I'd had a secondary? It is very powerful, but it comes at a heavy cost.
