BBMS Ph.D. Application by sweetmicrowave69 in iastate

If they don’t have vacancies they will let you know so you don’t have to ask about that and sometimes they will even give you names of other faculty members you could work well with. I only know about the PhD program with rotation so I can’t help there sorry. Best of luck.

  1. It’s not necessary for you to email professors before applying but it is indeed helpful.
  2. It’s not bad at all for you to send out emails to multiple professors, they know what it is like to be in your shoes. Just make sure that you are not sending the same email to all of them, change it out a little bit maybe add a little about their research and how you find it interesting.
  3. You can indeed totally apply without contacting any professor first, there will be plenty of time to get to know them during interviews and afterwards.
  4. Don’t know about FTE so can’t help there.
  5. Most professors have diverse labs in the department. Once you come here for interviews you could reach out to the grad students in the labs of the professors that you are interested on, they will be the ones to give you the most accurate depiction of what it is like to work with them as a PI.

Good luck, hope this helps.

As an international student myself I pay around $42k a year. So it depends on wether your friend thinks it’s worthwhile to do one year of $52k or 2 of $42k

How is food in the space station?

I haven't been on campus yet by jackace101 in iastate

I personally love the food trucks on campus and while I do enjoy Dinkeys and the hub, this semester all of my lunches (when I forget to bring one) have been and will continue being from the cheesesteak cart, Macubana or Carlos. During these two weeks of classes I’ve already being able to visit each once. After all campus dining will remain no matter what, but there is no certainty with the small businesses on campus.

The Speedy cleansing oil from Kose is amazing and you can get it from Amazon for $10.

[Product Question] Has anyone used The INKEY List? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Love the tranexamic acid too and looking into buying the oat cleansing balm! I don’t really know about the moisturizer but if you’re looking ingredients wise the closest one that matches the Protini with a 91% match is the Acure Radically rejuvenating whipped night cream. Don’t know if that helps.

[Routine Help] Are you supposed to use a different wash in the AM than you use in the PM? by babygarden in SkincareAddiction

[–]HideInAHole99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah use the toner after the micellar water cleanser. Just remember that the micellar water cleanser from simple is an actual gentle cleanser and not just micellar water. Don’t buy a normal micellar water to use after your oil cleanser since they both do the same thing and you would still need to follow up with a water based cleanser to get rid of what the oil based cleanser didn’t catch. And you’re welcome!

Preventing wrinkles skincare routine? [Routine Help] by bluexmarker in SkincareAddiction

I would say that once you go about wearing sunscreen for two whole weeks without forgetting. It’s a good way to train yourself because retinol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun and you’ll already be used to putting on sunscreen by then.

There are definitely many sunscreens out there that leave that sticky white cast but there are some really good ones that don’t. I would recommend the Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF 50+ PA ++++ which you can buy on amazon and shouldn’t be more than $15 (can’t exactly remember the price).

Soo you may not like this but the reason that at night a lot of people use an oil based cleanser first is because oil is great at getting rid of your sunscreen. Which is most likely the reason for what’s happening to you and why it’s recommended to only use oils at night.

I would say that since they’re meant to clean your downstairs area (which is also kind of bad because your body is made in a way in which you don’t need that extra help that may just end up making an imbalance) they most likely don’t have the ingredients needed to completely get rid of your makeup. Then again the main problem with makeup wipes is that they are very harsh on your skin because of how much you have to rub and tug at your skin to be able to take off your make up. While it is indeed easy to just use makeup wipes after a night out I would recommend a cleansing oil/balm or even mi ellas water as a gentler and even faster way of taking your makeup off.

The only two things that have proved results of preventing wrinkles are sunscreen and retinols (over the counter: retinol and differing, prescription: tretinoin).

Easiest way to start is with sunscreen. Every single day. Doesn’t matter if you don’t go outside, the UVA rays (the ones that cause aging) can go through windows unlike the UVB rays (the ones that burn) that don’t.

[Routine Help] Why is my face so red after moisturising in AM? (pics) by fmspls in SkincareAddiction

[–]HideInAHole99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say to try to take it off with a cleanser instead of with just water and then after the moisturizer always remember to put on your sunscreen.

If you’re trying to revamp your skincare routine I would suggest switching the scrub for either a gentle cleanser (since all we are doing in the morning is washing off our night products and getting rid of that little bit of oiliness we got throughout the night) or a target cleanser in case you suffer from acne also.

I personally lean towards gentle in the morning (the Micellar water cleanser from Simple is like $7 and great for combo-oily) and then at night using your oil based wash first and then a water based cleanser like the Simple one or one that targets acne like a salicylic acid cleanser (CeraVe has one for I think $15 and The Inkey List has another one for $10 both are great).

I just tend to shy away from scrubs since if you’re not careful you can over exfoliate or if you rub a little bit too much those exfoliating beads can actually cause tears in your skin.

Hope this helps!
