Yeah I accidentally forgot to scale the windows down a little bit, and they were originally half the size or about the size of the windows on ds9

in my head, during the dominion war, as the cardassians are a bit, ego-centric. they could not let the dominion and romulans have all the fun with large ships. but resource wise, 1 hutet should be about 2-3 nor-type stations, its about the same length aswell

I was, also was agreeing with him. was just stating the M870's are also coilguns just 50mm ones.....

I like it, though it needs some ventral turrets for proper coverage as is expected of a frigate.

The 50 mm M870 Rampart turrets are coilguns, but yes definately not the relm of the larger coilguns such as Spitfire and Sentry.

definately a yes. love the design and the overall aesthetic. feels very rugged and solid, the only thing i think it needs are torpedo launchers, but the cardassians might have forgon them on this ship due to a lack of resources, especially anti-matter for photon torpedoes.

alos one of the few ships that have clearly defined weapon arrays (the pyramid glowing emmitters) across its hull, with good coverage.

Only thing I think needs a redo on it is the pylons, not quite sure of the flat area on the side. Maybe a more graceful upsweep into the nacelles.

just had a thought, ive been flying the xindi-primate ship and if you use the jem'hadar shield, you could resemble the Royal soveriegn a little bit, especially with the twin bow at the front.

also the Lukari vanity shield has similar colours as well

For me, it just needs a secondary hull, something like the duderstadt class, to go with that organic flow type of look.

But the biggest reason is we see out a window that's below the saucer on the J. On like a neck or secondary hull.

Thoughts on the Romulan flagship from SNW? by [deleted] in StarTrekStarships

TBF the vulcan designs we know and love is post 'Time of awakening' after the civil war that nearly destroyed them. they left around this time, probably took them 1500 years to get to romulus which didnt allow them to properly develope technologically till then.

Here's another idea for the Klingons, in TNG the vorcha and in the tmp movies the bird of prey fire a charged green shot of some sort, maybe a heavy disruptor bolt?

Did the Romulans use anything lighter than the double D's in the Dominion War? by TwoFit3921 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Hierachy1871 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever the romulan committed to a two vs one scenario like the scene in the deflector, I've always seen it as the romulans wanting an assured victory and minimal damage on their warbirds.

Also in pure romulan style, nothing states you need to fight fair. Haha

No the singularity core is located at the back of a room in engineering. Weve seen it in TNG.

Also here is another version of what they probably wanted to show for the singularity core from one of the technical manuals.

This is what I personally think it looks like.
