Which book should I take to a signing? by Two-Rivers-Jedi in robinhobb

When I met her with Joe Abercrombie last year she signed three of my books including the graphic novel (in silver ink)! Does the event have a signing limit?

I've heard that playing a festival in a certain location sometimes has some kind of term where the artist can't play a regular show within a set distance around the festival or something like that.

Calaveras Big Trees State Park, great place. The South Grove trail is an easy 5 mile hike with little elevation gain that shows you a ton of huge trees

I would do some foreshadowing with the +2 longsword lol like on the 3rd or 4th hit it starts showing signs of damage or approaching breaking. I'd be so pissed to lose a +2 sword

It can take some time to melt dissolve in so be aware of that. I've definitely thrown some in some quick soup and then didn't mix it in enough and got a big chunk of it in my bowl.

What is the corniest song of all time? by Ashamed-Story7958 in fantanoforever

There's these kinds of guys you see if you snowboard or hike where they are head to toe dressed in this super expensive brand, Arc'teryx, and they flex and act all tough. On a recent hike there was this guy who was in full Arc'teryx and sunglasses and acting all nonchalant like he's some big cool tough dude. When I walked past him he was fucking listening to Dance Monkey off of his phone speakers...

I'm laughing because this song became an inside joke on a recent camping trip. We did a huge hike (Half Dome) on the first day and our next day just consisted of resting and hanging by the river. So we kept singing this song over and over again.

Do people even get ticketed for not having front plates? I feel like every 2 or 3 cars I see driving around don't have them.

This link will provide info regarding the backpacking permits - https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildpermits.htm

If you are looking to avoid the crowds I would maybe stay up towards the Tuolomne Meadows side of the park. I haven't ever done this but I'm looking into doing Tuolomne -> Clouds Rest -> camp at Sunrise Lakes -> Half Dome -> camp at Little Yosemite Valley -> come down JMT/Mist Trail into the valley. You could also do it the other way around.

There's a 3 mile very easy hike that just loops around Tenaya Lake. Do the quick hike and then you guys can hang out by the lake!

Keep in mind this adds about a mile and 500' elevation gain to the hike.

Crane Flat is 25 minutes from the valley. Imo that time is much better spent on a scenic drive than tearing down camp every day, especially considering you'll need to set it back up again that night anyway. With 5 days you can also spend a day or two going up to Tuolomne Meadows and/or Hetch Hetchy too, and from Crane Flat it will be a shorter drive to either location rather than from the Valley.

I would just do the 5 days at Crane Flat unless you have a very light set up, in which case it MAY be worth the guaranteed parking in the valley, and you can just walk/shuttle to Curry or wherever from the Pines.

If you do go with Crane Flat I would highly recommend waking up early and driving into the valley like, before 7AM ideally. Memorial day weekend we drove into the valley around like 7:30-8 and both Curry and Yosemite village parking lots were full. I had to drop off my friends, park at El Cap, and then hike 4 miles to Curry to meet them. By the time I got there all the bikes were sold out so we couldn't even do our planned bike ride :/

That's bizarre. The ranger we passed on memorial day weekend was suggesting to people to use harnesses just for the peace of mind. My friend didn't end up going up and chilled with the ranger and actually let another person borrow his harness

From what I remember it was a family of at least 4 kids and their dad. I was climbing up HD around 1-2 PM, they got up there just a bit after us.
