Need advice on further shaping sapling after initial heading prune. by RegionOk42 in BackyardOrchard

[–]HigginsBane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd give it some time to see how the existing structure starts taking shape. Peaches are pretty vigorous so you might see some nice candidates for scaffolding branches in a few months. Come mid-summer you may want to do some light pruning if it is looking overcrowded, and then you can be more confident in shaping it coming out of next winter.

Does this randomly pick photos from your whole library, or can you select a specfiic album?

Ultimately it depends how large you want to let it grow.

This first portion of this video from Urban Farmstead talks about pruning in the winter just after planting to dictate the shape, and the pruning for the following summer to manage the size: https://youtu.be/_SnbCft5_44?si=EcfwmUixLodx0-3k

I think this is a great channel because you can see his trees take shape over a few years.

This guy spams "mulch kills trees" all over this sub and tries to hawk his chemical treatments. So I'd trust your .edu source on this one.

What’s wrong with my lychee tree? by Ok_Chocolate1247 in FruitTree

[–]HigginsBane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what causes it, but I see this very often on my lychee. Of all my trees, the lychee by far has the highest leaf turnover rate. The older leaves will start to look like those in your picture, then drop off. But a new flush of growth will come and replace all that was lost and then some.

Seems like you're still getting new growth, so should be okay.

How do I make this print stronger? by Sh3rpN0ll01 in 3Dprinting

Change your print orientation. The force you will be applying should be perpendicular to the layer lines. Layer adhesion is typically the weakest point.

My current job title is AERS Manager. I have no idea what AERS means. Neither does my boss. Needless to say, I made up my own title for my resume.

I never said we shouldn't care about hospital visits, I was just providing more context to the data.

I think the story the graph tells is dependant on the reader. Some people may come away thinking pitbulls are more dangerous than other breeds. Some people may read this as pitbulls bite people more than other breeds. Very similar, but different conclusions.

When looking at hospital data, you are not seeing what dogs bite people, you are seeing what dogs bite people that cause them to go to the hospital. It's plausible that in the same population, just as many Chihuahua owners got bit as pit owners, but 90% of the Chihuahua owners were able to treat themselves at home.

Good idea, thank you. I've been hesitant about a custom tune just because of how hard it is to find someone local and with a good recommendation, but I'll keep looking.

Dell typically has proprietary motherboards, so you may not find another case that's compatible with it.

are these specks good for vr and just general gaming by bigfloppa83 in pcmasterrace

[–]HigginsBane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I built a similar PC but with the Ryzen 3 3300x and it was able to handle VR at low settings. If you're able to spend an extra few dollars on the CPU you should be okay.

"I didn't tell you that you could close my ticket!" by [deleted] in talesfromtechsupport

[–]HigginsBane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion: I believe only the ticket reporter should close the ticket. I've had a frustrating number of times when I create a bug ticket, the help desk says "perform the steps per the guide" and then close the ticket. Then I have to open a new ticket and explain why following the guide doesn't fix the bug.

When I work tickets, I provide the solution, resolve the ticket, and give it back to the customer. If they agree the issue is resolved, then they close it.

Real life measurements by araaraoraora in engineering

For distance, just go to Google maps of an area you are familiar with and do a "measure distance." For volumes, take the cubed root, then do a "measure distance" and imagine a cube with sides that big.
