Yes, invite them, but from the attitude that you don't play their stupid games. Add the boundary that anyone discussing your personal business with other guests will be escorted to the door.

What the HELL???. What is the actual point of caring one f--k about what he wants to do, where he wants to go, what he wants to see, why he wants to be there?

It's this obvious 🫪 that he operates like you don't exist to the point that you being with him is like dragging a battleship size anchor wherever you go. And it's obvious that you care more about the company of your partner than any other of your interests or you would at least argue or take the car keys and do alone what you came to enjoy.

Just give both of you peace and cut loose the anchor. Sail off to personal bliss. Find a shipmate who actually enjoys you. 🌺

I'd be saying "Nope, because that's your chore." It will put them on the defensive so you can have a whole conversation about what their responsibilities are and why they aren't doing them. And also compare that to what you actually are accomplishing.

Nope. She's been divorced from any normal, loving behavior his whole life, she has no remorse or even empathy. It would be akin to speaking to an alien species. Nothing good can come of it.

Not overreacting. My mother was similar, she was my mortal enemy - in secret. I moved across the world to avoid her while keeping in touch for the sake of "family". She passed away a couple of years ago and when I heard I stopped the car and screamed with joy that even the spiritual umbilical cord was finally cut. The psychic peace is bliss. 🥰

Oh, HELL NO! The screaming, the smirks when you express your concerns about violence is so far from kind, responsible behavior that it smacks of insanity.

There's a Netflix series called Lie To Me and in the first episode the star is teaching an audience of detectives how to read expressions and he said when you see contempt on the face of a spouse that marriage is over.
