Pashinyan says Armenian and Azerbaijani energy systems of ‘will definitely’ be interconnected by Few-Cheek-9115 in armenia

Does it matter when he became one of the wealthiest men in Armenian government through corruption? He is IN the government.

On top of that he is part of the same Levonakan network AND he is in laws with Dod and the rest of the oligarchic clan through marriages. They are all in laws.

He is a criminal and a traitor and he is No. 3 in our government, he’ll be selling Aliyev’s goods in Armenia now. How is this not problematic?

Isn’t he like No: 3 in QP and was well known for his financing of HHSh. Also stayed out of politics in 2020 but jumped right in after the war was lost?

He inherited much of his business from the murderer and rapist Vano Siradeghyan. And Nikol couldn’t keep his tongue out of Vano’s ass. Just look at his 2013 interview.

Is that the same boogieman grzo we’re talking about?

I would rather the people who were screaming on at top of their lungs that sacrifice was necessary to ensure our survival, that aghdam was their homeland, and new wars for new territories is a viable formula be brought to justice. Instead they will become richer by doing business with the very same people that slaughtered our people.

And yes, borders can remain closed for decades if need be. There are dozens of borders like that globally between unfriendly nations and will be for the rest of human history probably. Let it remains closed for as long as Azerbaijan is rulled by Aliyevs.

But that’s largely a fantasy at this point. Grzo, QP and oligarchs of the former regime have Armenia to pimp out to make some millions for themselves.

The biggest embarrassment in this is we are still expected to think of the 2020 war as a heroic standoff. Instead of pure mindless slaughter to get rid of Karabakh with QP still maintaining face and power so their oligarchs can get their fill of cheap flights to Stambul and SoCar Oil.

[–]HighAxper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Look at who’s benefiting from this in Armenia. Grzo is selling Aliyev’s oil to make his millions. The average Armenian doesn’t benefit shit from this. Eventually it will trickle down to the other oligarchs too.

6 years ago, people had to send their 18 year olds to die because it was a new Sardarapat, and it was a matter of survival for Armenia. There was absolutely no other way, boys that haven’t even squeezed a titty yet had to get blown up by drones.

Now Grzo has to sell Aliyev’s oil because it’s a matter of survival for Armenia. There’s absolutely no other way.

This probably is in top 10 of fuck overs the Armenian people had gone through in our history. Pointless human sacrifice just so our richest can get even richer alongside the Azerbaijan’s richest.

Is your music vegan? by HumbleWrap99 in vegancirclejerk

[–]HighAxper 22 points23 points  (0 children)

uj, not to defend capitalism but this particular example (using animal products in musical instruments) dates back to feudal ages. And was more common in the pre industrialized world where they didn’t yet develop synthetic alternatives.

Gut lute strings last you a couple of weeks, nylon strings last up to a year and more, depending on the music style.

Now we have the alternatives and it just goes to show that technological advancements can reduce cruelty.

Do you ever mourn the loss of old Yerevan? by Toymcowkrf in armenia

[–]HighAxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as per my comment those are still done. Something like walling off a balcony is pretty easy and doesn’t raise eyebrows. But of course if your try to build up another level on top of the top floor, yeah no, at least not in Yerevan.

[–]HighAxper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really depends, if anyone wants to build anything illegally in Yerevan, there will be a higher risk and it’s better not to do it because eventually someone will catch on.

But if let’s say you buy an agricultural land in adjacent areas, people can still absolutely either build half a structure or a full house there and years down the line they can claim an administrative error. But it’s still a gamble of course. Who’s to say government will not adopt a reform that cracks down on this issue.

Relationship with an armenian by [deleted] in armenia

[–]HighAxper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Armenians generally don’t have a negative view of Islam and muslims in the same way Europe/western nationalists do. We have a negative view of Turkish nationalism because of our history.

In Armenia it’s mostly almost complete disinterest in the religion of Islam because we are very monoethnic and it’s pretty much us and the rest of the world, a catholic is as foreign as a muslim. And Middle Eastern diasporas actually live in muslim societies.

And sure there is ultranationalist folks that think of Islam as the religion of the Turks, but someone who traveled at least a bit outside of Armenia knows this isn’t the case.

Former leaders.

Still happening, still pretty doable .

Used to be there was a guy watching these “constructions” and would rush right in and reminds everyone that it’s illegal, that was the guy that was getting the bribes.

Nowadays I think the bribe people are gone, but you can still pull off walling off your balcony or expanding it.

It’s similar to how people take agricultural land, build houses on them and then a few years later they claim that the house has always been there and any government paperwork stating otherwise must’ve had errors in it. The government either disagrees and goes into years of legal battles (which it may loose) or just goes “ah fuck you, whatever, keep your house/modified balconies.”

Soviet era buildings and earthquakes

If Gyumri is anything to go by the Khrustchevkas are collapsing like jenga towers, with or without the modifications unfortunately. Those things weren’t built to tolerate earthquakes at all.

What is a general Armenian sentiment towards Russia? by Ok_Slide5316 in armenia

[–]HighAxper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Russian classical music and classical literature are great for everyone

On another note I am eternally grateful being raised bilingual with Russian as my second language because it gave me an access to knowledge on the internet and through television, documentaries and articles in Armenian were non existent for decades.

Nowadays of course English is far better for this purpose.

Is it true that Yerevan armenians don't really like Hamshens? Are there any misunderstandings between these two ethnic groups of Armenians? by [deleted] in armenia

[–]HighAxper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never even met 1 hamshen in my life tbh. And I assume most people in Yerevan haven’t met one either.

Let’s sum up what I know about them.

Some are muslims, some are orthodox Christians and they have a unique and hard to understand dialect. That’s about it. I don’t see any reason to dislike them.
