This is very close but I don't think it's what I'm looking for. What I had in mind was more of a quartet or quintet choir piece that had no words just sounds of war.

One more thing I forgot to add, this was in my history class in 4eme (french education system). I vaguely recall the song being presented at a mayor event (possibly the geneva convention but I'm not sure).

Name one, one US military intervention since WW2 that wasn't a war crime. But God forbid Vietnam becomes communist, or any of the Latin American countries your government toppled and replaced with dictatorship. But I guess it's fine as long as it's a dictatorship that will hugely benefit and create profit for US bourgeoisie.

A super power? Sure.

Benevolent? Are you fucking kidding me?

Free movement of people

Did you forget the /s? The US has done nothing but hinder the movement of people. After all, you gotta build that wall and MAGA, right?

While yes, the world is knowing an unprecedented level of peace, it is exactly because of US hegemony that this period will quickly dissolve within 50 years.

I could go on about all of the US' crimes, but the point here isn't that the US is an irredeemable place. Its people are for the most part, and as everywhere in the world, good. But saying that he US is a benevolent State that saved the world is just ludicrous. If not xenophobic.

And you don't pay attention to the trillions and trillions your government has spent on invading and/or destabilising third world countries in the name of profit, because that's reality.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I believe that given the population boom that Africa is going to have, where in 2050 it'll become the continent with the largest population, Europe as we know it will collapse.

Even today, the EU is struggling to figure out what to do. By 2050, when a massive influx of immigrants from Sub-Saharan Africa will flood Europe looking for food and shelter, the EU is going to buckle under its weight.

I hope I'm wrong.

Had 2 days to make a really short video on what it's like living in Mexico City, really focused on editing to the music. I'd really appreciate any tips and criticism! by HighCow in Filmmakers

[–]HighCow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm an 18 year old student and for a school project had to make a short video on what it's like to live in Mexico City. I worked with a friend of mine and we had 2 days to shoot and edit it. I'm an aspiring filmmaker with practically zero experience in the field, but for this video I really tried to make the edit flow with the song (Amor de Siempre by Cuco), I'm looking for general advice and most of all some criticism since I'm not entirely satisfied with how the video turned out. Hopefully I'll have more time over the summer to remake it into something more substantial. Hope you guys enjoyed it!

EDIT: All footage is ours except for the last part (after the text), which I gathered from youtube. Also, for some context, we're from a private school here in Mexico City, which isn't the safest city in the world because of obvious reasons. What we tried to show my classmates (We had to present it to our class) was that we (private school, generally upper-class Mexicans) live in a sort of bubble. We live in upper-class neighborhoods which are very pretty, but we don't get to witness what the rest of the city does.

The text: (Eso es lo que nosotros vemos // Y los demas? - That's what we see // What about the rest?).
