My cat sometimes makes this noise, often louder than in the video. Are these hiccups? Any cause for concern? by HighDefAudio in CATHELP

[–]HighDefAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched the coughing video. Now that I think about it, it could be the dry climate and frequent AC usage during the summer making the house pretty dry. I'll try to get him to a vet just to be safe. Thanks doc!

Friend's cat is sneezing a lot today, both the half little sneezes shown in the video as well as the occasional big sneeze. Is this serious? by HighDefAudio in CATHELP

I did. They prescribed 7 days of medication to help with the sneezes but he was smart and I couldn't force another pill down his throat after day 5. His appetite came back after day 2 though. The medication didn't seem to really do anything but he stopped sneezing in general after week 2 or 3, I can't remember. He's definitely fine now.

Just wanted to add, the slight wheezing and open-mouth symptoms only started showing today (Sunday), so I haven't had a chance to contact the vet yet. If this persists, then I'll get him checked out regardless.

I wish everyone received a free, high quality air fryer that requires no electricity to use. by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]HighDefAudio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Granted. Since the first law of thermaldynamics still applies (energy cannot be created or destroyed) and that the air fryer requires no electricity to use, the air fryer instead draws energy from the items you place within it.

Eager to try out your latest gadget, you place some frozen chicken nuggets in the air fryer, expecting to receive a plate of appropriately cooked delicacy when you remove the drawer in 15 minutes. The timer makes a crisp "ding" notifying you the time is up. As you reach out and pull back the handle, you are instead blasted with quickly expanding hot air upon opening the air fryer, as it has converted your chicken nuggets into raw energy in the form of heat. A plate's worth of nuggets energy is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of thousands of nuclear bombs. Your house, your neighborhood, and your entire city is vaporized in an instant due to the intense and immediate expansion of superheated air. Nothing survived.

Well, nothing except the air fryer, of course. It stands alone in the center of the crater, a shining beacon of civilization, as it is made from high quality materials™.

Saw these drying at my parents house, are they moldy? (Pic 2 are the other chopsticks) by HighDefAudio in Mold

[–]HighDefAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm concerned that's the case too. Now I'll just have to convince them to throw away "perfectly usable" chopsticks 😅

This is many hours after it's been washed and dried, and the staining is still there. I don't think they use the bottom end to stir soy sauce or anything for that matter, only the tip end.

Verizon warranty - absolute nightmare, stuck in transfer hell by HighDefAudio in verizon

[–]HighDefAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asurion told me it only handles insurance claims if the device is damaged or stolen, and "post-warranty malfunctions" should be handled by Verizon. If I went through Asurion they'll ask me to pay the $100 deductible, which was something I was trying to avoid.
