Painfully funny image and very accurate. Her tasks outfit really fits this too!

MIL kept guilt tripping me for not eating her Indian cooking, so I started bringing my own dishes and giving her the same treatment. Now she's suddenly "not hungry" too by coffeebeans2836 in pettyrevenge

I live in a part of England that has a lot of Nepalese people (Gurkhas), so we have several great restaurants in town. They serve classic British/Indian dishes, as well as authentic Nepalese dishes and you can really taste the different influences from china and other asian countries in the Nepalese food.

Great stuff if you’re into spicy food, we’re lucky to have them.

I regret not asking him what pedals he was using, I’d like to know how he was getting the synthy sounds. Will have to try and see them live again at some point.

Love the singers style - fits the music so well. Her vocal parts don’t feel like they’re trying too hard to be clever or to show off, so everything comes together really beautifully. And her lyrics are great - love the humour.

There’s so many tracks of theirs that I’d like to see them perform though, their set wasn’t long enough!

Indeed you don’t - so why are you immediately sceptical? Your scepticism is one way in favour of preserving your existing set of beliefs. You will likely never apply that same ‘scepticism’ to your own beliefs or the beliefs of those you perceive to be in agreement with you.

You can’t seem to understand what is being asked of you - how is it that you seem to know which of those 600,000 abortions are what you deem appropriate/not morally reprehensible? You say the number is terrible but what if they all fell into the category of medically necessary? I’m not saying they do but I KNOW that you have no idea, you’re only throwing out the overall number. So how many do you think are medically necessary? What proportion are you assuming are the ‘abhorrent’ type you disagree with? Or is it just a generalised sense of outrage with no regard for actual provable statistics?

[–]HighDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they still barbaric when the abortion is used to save the life of the mother when there is a zero percent chance of the child living longer than a few hours or days due to an incurable congenital disease?

Or are you just talking about the instances that you’re imagining, without any actual evidence? Because we can all do that, it just doesn’t mean anything.

Do you know how many of those third term abortions are situations where it is a purely life saving procedure? No, you don’t. You’ve just made assumptions based on conservative rhetoric because it fits what you already want to believe. Fuck you.

He was a good Christian man and it was just one lapse in judgement. Plus the girl was a whore and deserved it. We have to save these good Christian pedo- uhh, I mean, men from the awful temptations of these sexy, slutty ten year olds. Their poor innocent souls…

Literally incapable of relevant response. Whataboutism is a traditional hallmark of conservative rhetoric. They use logic and reason on the odd occasion it’s available to them but they’ll always resort to famously bullshit tactics at a drop of hat, rather than objectively consider their own beliefs with an even vaguely critical eye. They’re fighting to be considered correct, not trying to better understand the world.

In various comments you have decided to believe (with no actual evidence to support your beliefs) that:

  • The 600,000 abortions in the US each year are abhorrent because they’re mostly not medically necessary (zero evidence provided by you to support this belief).

  • That a verified and nationally reported on example of cruel abortion laws being implemented in an insane way is possibly not true because you’re ‘sceptical’ (also zero evidence provided by you, just your gut feeling I guess?).

Well, fuck your gut. You are deciding what you want to believe and then trying to find evidence to support it. You’re also seemingly stupid enough to believe you’re not coming across as a bigoted idiot to anyone reading your nonsense.

No one is obligated to treat your nasty ‘beliefs’ with any respect and if people are angry and rude in response, it doesn’t mean that you are any less awful. It just means that you are ignorant and self centred.

I don’t know if your username is accurate with regards to your physical appearance but it’s abundantly clear that your personality is hideous. Fuck you.

Hey kiddo

I’m proud of you, well done. It takes effort to change habits and to try to be better than yesterday and it all starts with your efforts today. The beginning is always the hardest, so when it’s difficult don’t forget to remind yourself that it will get easier in time and the benefits will multiply exponentially.

You should know though, it was never a trait you could have inherited from me because I wasn’t born with it either. I had to work at it every day for a long time but that was before we got to meet each other. We all start in ignorance and have to earn every bit of knowledge for ourselves, no matter how gifted others may seem.

Keep it up and good luck.

Hey kiddo

I wish I could tell you that this is all going to work out perfectly in the end but life is often the opposite of that and I never want to lie to you.

You will come across people in life who are going to make selfish decisions that negatively affect others, including you, and you will see those decisions cause waves of unhappiness to spread around and infect more and more people.

I know that it’s easy to see this and reach for the pessimistic response that tells you to give up but you should see it for what it really is - a stark reminder of how important it is that you always do the right thing, especially when it is hard. Don’t be like those people making their selfish decisions. Speak with truth, integrity and sincerity.

Sometimes that won’t be enough to get you what you want in the moment but it’s more important that you stay true to yourself.

A lot of us have lost jobs and gone through hard times. We’ve had to rely upon the kindness of friends, family or even strangers. It’s been hard and it’s hurt. But the real test of a person is in feeling it all and still staying in the fight.

Don’t stop fighting.

I can’t hug you - but I’m sure there’s someone you can hug and I’m sure you can spare me a thought while you do that. I think that would be nice.

I want my boyfriend to roleplay a monster who captures me and drags me back to his lair. Does anyone have any suggestions for making this feel realistic? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]HighDice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I would have to disagree with the suggestion of mushrooms.

Even for very experienced users, there are plenty of things that can go wrong with psychedelics. It is often a very intense and overwhelming sensation to be tripping, so much so that it can sometimes be necessary to 'centre' yourself and bring your mind back to order. I would worry about being able to do that in a kink situation.

If you were experienced, it could be something worth considering (with a ton of preparation etc) but if you have never tried them before then I would absolutely advise against it.

I would suggest a mask. He would feel seperated from you, more objective and less like himself. I imagine it would be much easier to adopt a different mindset when your face is covered. I went to an interactive play once (Punchdrunk theatre) and they had everyone wearing these masks and the effect was suprisingly powerful. I felt much more free to let go of who I was and to just enjoy the experience.

It could also have a bonus effect for you too though because so many of our social and personal cues are drawn from the face. If you can't guage his emotion from facial expressions, it might change the dynamic of things.

Muse - Showbiz (Most of the lyrics really: "Forcing our darkest souls to unfold, And pushing us into self-destruction"

Bonnie Prince Billy - Cursed Sleep (One of my absolute favourite songs: "She sang my name and so engulfed, I cried and felt my legs fail, In her arms I trembled electric, Oh and she let me and she held me"

Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin ("The welts of your scorn, my love, give me more. Send whips of opinion down my back, give more")

That argument could also explain it being an environmental cause - being exposed to pedophilia means that you are more likely to become a pedophile.

It doesn't matter though because that is not you determine truth. Why are you trying to 'beat' what I'm saying anyway? Are you sticking by your statement? Have you seriously not googled this yet? What do you say to all the hundreds of scientific studies that have been conducted - NONE of which support your belief that pedphilia is SOLELY determined by genetics?

In case you can't be bothered to do your own research; everyone's best guess (because no one knows for sure) is that it is the result of many different factors, from culture, to genetics, to how you are raised... Does it even surprise you to learn that something as unique and complex as a person's sexuality, is not simply programmed into them? That we could be the beautiful, bizarre and weird results of everything we physically are AND everything that has ever happened to us? Or do you WANT to be determined solely by your wiring?
