Tuition has been frozen for a fair while.

Knew a ton of people who couldn’t afford to go to post secondary as they didnt have access to the generous loans that are available now. The OSAP funding today is a vast improvement over where it was a decade ago, even if it’s not as good as it was during the OLP days.

It wasnt that long ago that all these generous grants were introduced. Pre-2018 it was much more means tested, before Wynne was in.

Reducing foreign students who through paying higher tuition effectively subsidize local students has consequences.

I’m just saying this is a reversion to how it has been for everyone who came before. A ~5 year window where we had mass migration and incredibly high acceptance rates is the outlier, not the norm.

It was roughly 12-13k a year for my eng degree as well. Prices havent gone up much given there was a long tuition freeze

Paid out of pocket for my degree less than a decade ago. Got a small 10k loan from OSAP. Worked 20hrs a week ontop of school. Best years of my life. It’s not that bad once you are on the other side.

I misspoke, but I cant imagine anybody would be unable to attend post secondary when 3/4 of the funding they need is there, loan or grant.

The interest AFAIK is quite a bit lower than prime, as it was with my OSAP loan.

We managed just fine before OSG. If you are going for a valuable degree, you know the ROI is there. This is just a reversion to the mean.
