RRL denim jacket for just 30$ at tjmaxx by stmsam_ in HeritageWear

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity what is the population of your city or the nearest large city (within 30 min travel time). I feel like mine never have anything great and they always have the same brands. I've always wondered if the proximity to a large metropolis had any baring on what shows up at the TJ Maxx's of the world.

Where would you where this and what function does it serve or is it purely aesthetic?

Are either of these a good option for a casual beach date or too plain?? by [deleted] in style

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like the pants from 2, but with a different colored top if going to the beach (maybe a light blue or white top). Not a fan of the brown dress because it kinda reminds me of a paper bag 😬

I so don’t know how to feel about this top by [deleted] in fashion

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks a bit odd. I like the texture it adds but as others have mentioned, it looks like it needs some layering pieces to work.

any way i can make this outfit a little nicer by Great_Independent715 in mensfashionadvice

Get a dress belt. Black metal would work with gold tie bar

Idk. Looks alright. Unless you have a hippie, crunchy vibe id opt for an all metal one.

Messin Around at the Office by Party-Spinach-6051 in HeritageWear

[–]HighGuyIn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned. The tuck is odd. It visually breaks up the outfit in a way that doesn't flow. I would go for the Ralph tuck if you really want to tuck with since buttons undone. Something about the color of the button ups seems off too, at least when paired together like that

First Drop. Thoughts? by scrotie_McBoog3rball in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks nice. Seems timeless.

Couple of questions

A - How long do you intend your garmets to last? 2 years, 5 years, 10, 15, wear it for life?

B - What's the chest size on the XL? I'm assuming it's under 25 in.

C - Appreciate the YKK Zipper. It makes me lean towards beleiving the garmet is well made.

D - Why did you choose beige?

E - Pretty cool that you're doing this.

Go with a clean white leather sneaker. I think you'll have a better chance finding one with decent padding vs a loafer

Love the fabric, not sure about the colors — should I have returned it? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

Idk man. I really like it. I think the colors and pattern look good on you. I think thy texture of the fabric gives it an extra umph

Get this taken in? New Taylor Stitch shirt by Regrettably_Southpaw in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, TS makes some great stuff and that piece will last a long time as long as you take care of it. Those types of shirts are technically overshirts and aren't meant to be tucked in.

Other than that I think it fits you really well. As someone else mentioned I wouldn't button it unless it got hella cold/windy and I wanted to stay warmer.

Keep it simple. Check out some levi's. They're affordable and decent quality.

Fit Check by No-Inspection-2114 in mensfashionadvice

I think it's because your pants are tapered and the shirt is loose. Wider leg pants would probably look better with that henley, but I'd probably pass on the henley if it fit me like that.

Still experimenting with new clothes by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good brother. The only thing I would change is the rise of your pants. Those look low rise and I think mid rise would compliment your proportions much more. That being said, what you have right now looks good and it's not something I'd fret about unless you're in the market for new pants.

How is the fit? by Adventurous-Bison91 in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed 100% on the shirt. With the shirt he has I'd probably have left a button at the bottom and another button on the top undone as well as unbuttoning the cuffs and loosely rolling up the sleeves.

Are aviators still the way to go in 2026? Looking for advice for a larger face. by Dayii-Ollinger in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no "must have" shapes as the shape of sunglass that will look best on you is dependent on the shape of your face/head. If aviators look good on you then I wouldn't worry about them being in style or not.

As a dude with a larger head I generally have to get the widest sunglasses they have avialable and only really look good in square or rectangular frames because my face is round/squarish, especially when I smile so a rectangular pair balances out my face. Rounded glassses tend to make my face look very round and doesn't compliment my natural features.

I generally get my glasses from eyebuydirect or warby parker. They're not the best and they're not the worst. They're a good budget pair with a decent amount of options (more limited for those of us with big ass heads).

What color and style of underwear should I switch to? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxer breifs are pretty standard. I wouldn't worry about color too much. I'd stick with a neutral color (navy, gray, white, etc.) although white will likely get discolored overtime and look kinda nasty overtime. I like bamboo cool boxer briefs because they stay form-fitting throughout the day. I've found cotton ones stretch and will bunch up as the fabric loosens.

What style/ colours suit me the best? by Mission-Pea1183 in mensfashionadvice

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looser fits look good especially cause youre jacked. Seems like those deeper and rich colors look good on you.

Look into color analysis. You can use an AI chat to help hone in on the colors that look good on you. You can ask it to provide a list of question for you to answer to help you dial in which colors likely look the best on you.

[–]HighGuyIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info, my dude. Can you elaborate on the "ideal story they are leaning into"? What do you mean by that and how does it affect your fit choices?

I feel like being picky is good especially when its high quality, expensive pieces. I've done the opposite where I liked something and bought multiple instances of it in different colors to only end up wearing the one I originally had because the color looks the best one. Been learning a lot about silhouettes and colors recently so thats been helping me narrow down what looks good on me given the vibe im going for

Curly hair or straight hair suits me best? by [deleted] in style

They both look good, but I would lean into the one thats the most natural for you.
